Aluzard is one of the main protagonists of Entropy's Abyss, Entropy's Abyss: Reconclusion, The Final Loop and Whispers of Purgation: Last Words.
Aluzard is a leader of the Bloodcraft class. His leader skin can be purchased through the in-game shop as part of the 6th Anniversary Leader Pack.
Personality[]
Aluzard was once a warrior lusting for revenge against everyone in Vellsar. However, he end up falling into depression after many failed attemps to defeat the Lord of Darkness, seeing every event before him as pointless.
He seeks to permanently die so he can be fully free from the time loop that Vellsar is trapped in. Every time he does so, however, he simply awakens in another timeline. The sheer misery of being trapped in a time loop unable to accomplish anything after exhausting all his possible options has caused him to resort to drinking to forget the pain.
Initially he's presented as being very weak, easily outclassed and killed by practically every character in the story, but as later revealed this is because he'd been starved from refusing to drink blood; the moment he does, he easily trounced Sekka, Kagero and Drache together dozens upon dozens of times, and before he fell into despair he's always the one who managed to reach the Lord of Darkness.
Story[]
History[]
Aluzard is the sole surviving vampire in Vellsar. The vampires were the strongest race, but the vampire's pride blinded them, and failed to recognize the other races had united against them and all but Aluzard were wiped out.
Aluzard's parents died giving Aluzard time to escape the massacre, but Aluzard was left alone and without a purpose. He developed a hatred for the other races and when the vampire's faded into myth, he remerged from hiding. Using the violence of Vellsar, Aluzard took his revenge, killing Drache, Sekka, and Kagero, but when he faced the Lord of Darkness, he was defeated. The Lord of Darkness was seeking a new vessel, but he found Aluzard unworthy and killed him, but no matter how many times he died, Aluzard would awaken alive in the past because Vellsar was stuck inside a cycle of death and revival, one only he was aware of.
Aluzard tried to use the cycles to his advantage to fulfil his vow, but no matter what he did, he failed and was brought back at the start of the cycle, leaving him trapped with only loneliness as his companion.
Entropy's Abyss[]
Aluzard awakens inside a rowdy pub and continues drinking. A dragonewt named Drache approaches Aluzard, and tries to provoke Aluzard, but the latter displays indifference to Drache's threats and claims to be weak. Drache settles down after seeing that Aluzard isn't a threat and joins him in drinking. While drinking, Aluzard hints about having knowledge of both Drache and the future. Aluzard impresses Drache with his drinking and Drache asks Aluzard what race he is. Aluzard reveals he is a vampire, a race that has disappeared into myth, and Drache offers him a spot in his clan, but Aluzard declines because no matter what he does or who he is with, he feels alone. Drache leaves after sharing his frustrations with his clan and Aluzard soon leaves as well and finds Fleauesse. He senses he has had similar encounters with Fleauesse before and asks her when the cycles will end, only for Fleauesse to refuse to give a straight answer. Giving up, Aluzard leaves and Fleauess notes he cannot ignore his fate.
Aluzard overhears some Karasa-tengu discussing the sighting of a nine-tailed fox and he recalls a vision where he protects one from the werewolf leader Gido. Aluzard travels to where Sekka is fighting off some werewolves and jumps in to protect her, having experienced the moment countless times.
After defeating the werewolves, Aluzard introduces himself to Sekka. However, the werewolf leader Gido arrives to take over for his minions and devour Sekka to obtain her power. Aluzard fights against Gido and orders Sekka to flee, admitting he had killed her multiple times before realizing she has a soul and deserves to live. While fighting Gido, Aluzard reveals that Gido is just one of many out for the throne of Vellsar, and that he cannot die, so he drinks to forget his sorrows. Aluzard drains some of Giddo's blood, but despite having the strength to easily kill Gido, does nothing and lets Gido finish him. However, instead of dying, Aluzard awakens in the pub and starts drinking again.
After defeating the dragonewts, Aluzard contemplates the no matter what he does, Drache dies. He tells Drache that his anger is not aimed at him, but at a deeper issue, and Drache leaves. Aluzard recalls the many cycles he has experience with Drache, but is unable to decide whether his an enemy or a friend, though he admits he prefers drinking with him than fighting. Later, Aluzard is ambushed by dragonewts sent by Drache to kill him, but laments that Drache, and the others he has met, cannot be saved and resigns himself to being killed.
In another cycle, Aluzard recognizes that if he does not help Sekka, her mother will rise to power again, only to fall to the Lord of Darkness and a war breaks out that kills everyone follows. He laments that it seems that their deaths are predetermined and encounters Tsukikage, who attacks. Despite Tsukikage never changing during the cycles, Aluzard finds comfort in the predictability and fights back. Tsukikage overwhelms Aluzard, but realizes that he is holding back. Aluzard recalls the method Tsukikage uses to kill, Art of Decay, and choses to fall to it. Kagero arrives later and discovers Aluzard's corpse, but also the secret to the Art of Decay.
Aluzard mourns his loss of purpose and his unending failure to bring down the Lord of Darkness. Lost in the cycles of Vellsar, Aluzard learned the tragedy of the lives of those who live in it and eventually became unable to kill them to gain their strength to fight the Lord of Darkness. Even when he teamed up with them to fight the Lord of Darkness or tried to flee from Vellsar, Aluzard would always fall and awaken in the tavern. Despairing over the futility of his actions, everything that was taken from him, and being the only one to remember the cycles, Aluzard speaks with Fleauesse, only for her to spurn him and declare those in Vellsar are doomed to their tragedies. Having given up on life, Aluzard resigns himself to drinking eternity away in the pub.
Entropy's Abyss: Reconclusion[]
Aluzard laments the prison of time loops he is trapped in and is found by Kagero and Sekka. They question him about the deja vu and visions, but he refuses to answer them. Drache arrives and further presses the questions, but Aluzard still refuses to answer because he believes it would be pointless. Aluzard reveals the three have met with him before upon somehow remembering previous cycles and joined forces with him, but they are all killed in the end. Having enough of the conversation, Aluzard unleashes his incredible power and kills the three so they will not remember the previous cycles and not be trapped in the same despair as him.
Kagero finds Aluzard and discovers he has already prepared to kill him by killing Sekka and drinking her blood for power, but refuses to draw his blade at first to convey his gratitude for showing him how to defeat Tsukikage. Aluzard claims his action was simply put on a whim meant to pass the cycles and fights Kagero after debating the state the former lives in. Kagero is unable to land a blow on Aluzard due to the latter knowing how he will attack from countless battles in previous cycles. Aluzard kills Kagero and admits to the latter's corpse that he doesn't want to kill him or the others, but does so to keep them unaware of the cycles.
Sekka awakens at the start of a new cycle and remembers Aluzard cutting her down. She confronts him again, but Aluzard rebuffs her, claiming that he has tried every possible outcome to break the cycle, but they all ended with the Lord of Darkness winning. He reveals that the Lord of Darkness's current vessel is not suitable to him, and his existence is a curse that possess other. The Lord of Darkness desires a new vessel, so he created Vellsar and the conflicts between its races are actually to find a perfect vessel for him. Aluzard explains the Lord of Darkness cannot be killed due to his power that sends all attacks back at those who fight him. He then asks Sekka what she really wants and Sekka gives her thanks for teaching her she was alive and tells Aluzard she is not his enemy. Aluzard counters that she is not his friend either and attacks, having resigned himself to his despaired fate Aluzard overwhelms Sekka and reveals the countless times he has tried to change his fate, but every effort was futile in the end. Sekka berates Aluzard from running away from his problems, but Aluzard argues that fate cannot be changed and kills Sekka.
Drache awakens at the start of a new cycle and remembers Aluzard cutting him down. He finds Aluzard drinking in the pub and prepares to fight him, offering him a taste of his blood before their rematch. Aluzard claims that Drache cannot defeat him and that it is pointless to try, but Drache doesn't care and fights regardless. During their fight, Aluzard remembers he had fought Drache in a cycle where he had gained the power of the Searstone, but his focus is much stronger in the current battle. Drache tells Aluzard the same thing he once told him, the source of his suffering is an internal problem, not external. Aluzard argues that nothing he does makes a difference, and he is powerless against the fate he has been dealt and his previous actions of help were just whims. Drache counters that it doesn't matter if his decisions were whims or not, for they have changed him for the better, landing a hit before dying from his injuries.
Aluzard continues killing Drache, Sekka, and Kagero in countless cycles when they persist in trying to find a way to break the loops growing more frustrated with each death. He recalls he has tried every possible option and could not change fate, but despite their constant failures, Sekka, Drache, and Kagero continue trying to reach out to him in the next cycle. Drache points out Aluzard is the only one who understands the time loops, but reveals that they want to do more than break the loop, they want so save Aluzard from his despair no matter how many times they die. The three prepare to fight once more and Aluzard unleashes his full power.
The three manage to push Aluzard back, but he refuses to yield and attacks with his full power in one last clash. Over the thousands of battles the two sides have waged throughout the cycles, Aluzard is defeated for the first time and the three promise to keep fighting no matter how many cycles they go through. Faced with a future he has never experienced, Aluzard is given hope, something he has not had in a very long time, and admits defeat.
Finally consenting to trying to change fate once again, Aluzard share what he knows about the time loops and the Lord of Darkness. He reveals that there is one option he has never been able to try, confronting Fleauesse, the one person he has not been able to influence during the cycles. He recalls he tried to fight her, but could never remember what happened afterward. Kagero reveals he has never encountered Fleauesse, despite the others meeting her, and Aluzard gets an idea, a gamble that will only work once. Fearing that mentioning his plan could expose it to Fleauesse, Aluzard keeps it a secret and asks the others to trust him. He asks Drache and Sekka to travel to the base of the Tower where the Lord of Darkness sleeps to enact his plan.
In the darkness of Vellsar, the Lord of Darkness's tower stands as a symbol of despair and doomed fate, but Drache and Sekka arrive ready to change that fate. Upon reaching the tower's base, the two recall their defeats at the hand of the Lord of Darkness as Aluzard catches up and enacts his plan. The three find Fleauesse, who believes they are going after the Lord of Darkness, but Aluzard reveals she is the one they are after. Fleausse points out that fighting her is pointless, for she sees everything in Vellsar and can predict the outcome. The group refuses to back down and Fleauesse decides to unleash her power, claiming they are weak compared to her. Fleauesse taunts do nothing to dissuade Aluzard and he attacks with all his strength.
Despite being stronger than ever, Aluzard is unable to wound Fleauesse. Drache and Sekka join the attack, but their efforts do no damage and Fleauesse mocks their efforts. She counterattacks, taunting that the three's efforts amount to nothing, but the three refuse to give up. Fleauesse prepares to finish the battle and erase the three's memories.
The three continue fighting against Fleauesse, fighting beyond the point of any previous cycle they have lived so far. Fleauesse declares she is above the three in every way imaginable and that defeating her is impossible. Aluzard retorts that he has witnessed the impossible happen and fights on.
Fleauesse overwhelms the three with her power and boasts she knows absolutely everything about them. She prepares to finish the three off and start the cycle once more, but the three stand back up and charge at full strength. Despite Fleauesses's power, the three begin landing hits on her and Aluzard, finally having an understanding of the extend of Fleauesse's power, launches an all out attack. Fleauesse declares she controls everything and knows everything as she intercepts Aluzard's attack. When the flash from the colliding attacks fades, overpowers Aluzard and shatters his sword. However, in place of Aluzard's broken sword, Kagero appears and strikes Fleauesse with his Art of Rejuvination, landing a critical blow on Fleauesse. Aluzard reveals Kagero is the one being Fleauesse has not observed during the cycles, meaning she had no knowledge of his techniques and powers. Kagero reveals he inhabited Aluzard's sword and waited for the moment to strike. Aluzard explains he kept the plan a secret from everyone else and Sekka and Drache trusted his plan even though they didn't know what it was. He declares the group has performed a miracle, the same kind that freed him from his despair. Fleauesse reveals the strike can't kill her, as there is only one method to do so, but admits her belief that Vellsar and those who lived in it were meaningless was proved wrong. Aluzard asks Fleauesse about the real secret of Vellsar and Fleauesse reveals that before the Lord of Darkness came to be, Vellsar was known by a different name: Rivayle.
Aluzard realizes he was not reliving cycles only in Vellsar, but Rivayle too and Sekka also realizes that cycle, created by Fleauesse, repeats when Vellsar is destroyed. Fleauesse explains that those in Rivayle don't remember the cycles because of their shorter lifespans, while those in Vellsar are almost eternal, their extending lives allowed them to become sensitive to the flow of time and the cycles. She also explains that the group are the only ones aware of the cycles and they are the destined ones to change it. Drache declares that the group will go to Rivayle and pass the trial to end the threat, but Kagero points out they cannot travel to the past and even if they did change events, Vellsar would cease to exist and them along with it. Drache refuses to turn back, believing disappearing from time would be better than being trapped in the time loop for eternity and Fleauesse reveals her power can take them to Rivayle once, and hints it may be possible for the link between Rivayle and Vellsar to be broken. The group rallies to face the trial and save the world and Fleauesse sends them, a group that has defied fate itself, to the past.
The Final Loop[]
Aluzard decides to find the critical moment which causes Rivayle's transformation into Vellsar and change the mistake that would cause it. The group hears the gunfire from the rebellion led by Nahtnaught and decide to use the chaos to find the information they need. The group splits up and Aluzard discovers Arisa, the spitting image of the Lord of Darkness, fighting Iceshillendrig's henchmen. He defeats the henchmen and recognizes Arisa is different from the Lord of Darknes he knows and prepares to kill her to prevent the Lord of Darkness's reign from starting. However, he quickly discovers that Arisa is a completely different from the Lord of Darkness in terms of personality when Arisa explains she wants to save the world and decides to wait before deciding to killing her. Arisa recognizes Aluzard is from a world different than Rivayle and explains she is trying to confront Iceshillendrig. Aluzard explains he is from Rivayle's future, reveals the time loop he has come to end, and the future of Arisa's form as the Lord of Darkness. The two are beset by more of Iceshillendrig's henchmen and team up to fight them.
After defeating the henchmen, Aluzard wonders why Iceshillendrig commands such weak underlings to fight for him with no powerful champions while he hides away. He questions Arisa what she knows of Rivayle and she describes the three titans. Aluzard realizes that Iceshillendrig's forces are too weak to be a threat to Rivayle's future and questions what he is after.
Aluzard prepares to search for the others from Vellsar, but is stopped by Vincent, who uses his Word Magic to turn Iceshillendrig's henchmen on each other. Though Aluzard is able to resist Vincent's power over him and Vincent reveals he has decided the fighting has gone long enough and is finally intervening. Seeing Aluzard as a potential threat due to his power, Vincent attacks. Using his magic, Vincent freezes Aluzard and plans to hold him until the rebellions is over, but Aluzard breaks free and counterattacks. He manages to make Vincent bleed and drinks the spilt blood to empower himself and fights back to incapacitate Vincent. However, Vincent begins usign the people he put under his control to fight Aluzard, but Drache arrives to give him support. Drache gives Aluzard the bullet, the information about Bunny, and warns him of Iceshillendrig's reclamation. Aluzard leaves to take action with the information he has been given while Drache stays behind to fight Vincent.
Aluzard gives Bunny the bullet Drache handed to him, the same one Fleauesse originally gave to her, and stays behind to fight the wretch monsters while Bunny and Baron go to face Iceshillendrig.
Aluzard also battles the Shades and realizes the trial of Rivayle has been passed and a fading Fleauesse tells him, Arisa, Bunny, and Baron that Nexus can be found at Rivayles end and asks them to stop her for good. She tells Aluzard that the time loop has been broken as well as the connection between Vellsar and Rivayle and promises to use the last of her power to send the Vellsar group home when the battle is won.
Bunny and Baron make their way through the hordes of Shades and Aluzard meets up with them. The three join forces just as Nexus arrives to defeat them and fight against her. The three are unable to wound Nexus and the latter summons the Morning Star. Fortunately, Arisa arrives and dispels the Morning Star with her power. The four attack Nexus with Arisa and Aluzard distracting her while Baron gives Bunny the Lodestone to shoot. The attack manages to critically wound Nexus and the four press their attacks on the injured Nexus. Aluzard, Bunny, Baron, and Arisa defeat Nexus, but she escapes through a portal.
In the aftermath of the battle, Vellsar and Rivayle have become separate and those that came from Vellsar have returned to it. In Vellsar, the Lord of Darkness is no more, and the clans have made peace. Drache and Aluzard have a drinking contest and are found by Sekka and Kagero who join the celebration.
Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]
In a tavern in Vellsar, Aluzard welcomes Maisha Laforge and shares a drink with her. While they drink, Aluzard reveals he knows Maisha is a servant of a Keeper and Maisha reveals she has already conquered most of Vellsar's inhabitants with the power of Sorrow, including Sekka, Drache, and Kagero, and that Aluzard is the last remaining inhabitant of Vellsar. Maisha offers to let Aluzard join his friends so she may become a hero, but Aluzard just laughs at her claims and tells her she will never be able to replace Vellsar's true heroes and the legends they've made. Intrigued, Maisha asks Aluzard to share the legends of which he speaks, something Aluzard gladly agrees to.
Recalling the past when they return to Vellsar after the battle at Rivayle and find a peaceful world thanks to creating a new future without the Lord of Darkness, Sekka comments that there are fewer and fewer people on the streets lately, some even locking themselves in their houses in fear for days. They motivate her to find the answer herself, so Sekka leaves after drinking a special non-alcoholic drink from Aluzard.
Gido bursts in the tavern with his men, saying that he found traces of Sekka's blood in an alley, something that could only have been done by Kagero or Aluzard. Although Aluzard denies his guilt, Kagero doubts that Tsukikage could have taken control again. Gido decides to leave guards to watch him while he goes off to investigate with Drache and Aluzard.
At the tavern Drache finds all the customers depressed and Aluzard serving in the absence of the barkeeper. Drinking with him, Aluzard says he is scared that a Keeper is interfering with his world, but this time he will only have one chance to face it, though Drache states that they must look to the future. Aluzard tells him to trust his instincts to fight head on, leading Drache to confess that he asked Greitz to bring him the Searstone, which Aluzard says will be vital to his own plans.
Back at the start, Aluzard concludes that his three friends' clans fell to Maisha's Sorrow after they disappeared. Maisha claims that he can only choose loneliness or the redemption of sacrifice, for now that Nerva seeks something beyond the worlds, she will help her by giving her Vellsar as a void. When Aluzard comments on her devotion and patience in invading Vellsar, Maisha says that it is a result of her experiences in Isunia and Ametsuchi, which also taught her how precious her bond with Nerva is. Aluzard asks if she and Nerva are partners, to which Maisha states that a mortal could never come close to a god, so her true goal is to transcend to stand beside Nerva as her "hero." As Aluzard denies that Maisha is a hero, the two engage in battle. However, Maisha reveals that she contaminated the bloodshot reserves with her mana, managing to poison Aluzard, which he also attempted to do by putting his blood in the drink that Maisha was able to teleport at the last second.
Just as Maisha was about to eliminate Aluzard, Rowen and Eris appear to save him.
Eris only manages to prevent Aluzard's death as his light magic is incompatible with vampires, but Aluzard says that it is enough and that he must go help Rowen. Eris says that he should not in his condition and there is a risk of Maisha absorbing him, but Aluzard insists that there is a reason why Rowen will not be able to finish off Maisha.
Maisha admits defeat, but Rowen is unable to finish her off since that would also mean destroying the souls she had absorbed. Uncertain whether or not he may be lying, Rowen finds herself unable to continue fighting. However, Aluzard and Eris arrive, and Aluzard claims that she is unaware of how many lives she has absorbed. Maisha begins to suffer from within, demanding an explanation of what Aluzard did to her, but he says it is all thanks to the true heroes of Vellsar, who are able to fight back because she has weakened enough.
In the spirit world, the souls of Sekka, Kagero and Drache are plunged into the darkness of Sorrow. However, the three are confronted by figures from their pasts they thought were missing: the Nine-Tailed Fox, Tsukikage and the former leader of the Dragonewts. This is because the mana that Aluzard put in the drinks that the three drank came with two commands: "Should sorrow plague your host, you must wake and shield his heart" and "Heed my call".
Maisha doesn't understand how it happened, but Aluzard says that he was planning his moves knowing of her presence in Vellsar from the beginning, giving his blood to his friends not to control them but to give them the strength they needed. Maisha claims to still have the advantage thanks to the power of Nerva and the Sorrow of the rest of Vellsar, but Sekka attacks her with a new fire spell. Maisha tries to surprise Kagero from behind, but he uses a new technique that unites his power with Tsukikage's, Art of Refraction. Drache finally flies her away and calls upon the power of the Searstone to envelop her in the power of his flames. As Eris traps Maisha inside a barrier, Aluzard finally declares that it is checkmate as the power of his blood cancels out the souls she absorbed and will also allow him to free them. Maisha doesn't understand how she could fall to a gamble of miracles and luck, but Aluzard says that it's actually trust in the hope she found in her companions after so many lives and that a hero is not something you call yourself but what those who give you that hope call you. Maisha then has an emotional breakdown, cursing that things will never be fair and that no one but Nerva will ever care about her wishes, unleashing a surge of power that Rowen barely manages to shield everyone from. As Maisha suffers and more power is released, Aluzard concludes that the more Sorrow she feels, the more power she will have but at the same time she will not be able to control it. Maisha then opens a portal calling for Nerva and Drache urges Aluzard to do something before she takes Vellsar's souls with her, but Aluzard says that there is no way to follow her to another dimension, which is why he had put so much emphasis on weakening her, but now she has removed the restrictions he put on her with his blood. However, as a last resort, Aluzard asks Drache to push him to Maisha, using his Blood Arts to resist her mana. Aluzard tries to reason with her that she sees Nerva as just using her and will never return her feelings, but Maisha reveals that she always knew she was just his tool from the beginning, but she doesn't care, because serving Nerva is the only purpose she has in life. As Maisha passes through the portal, Aluzard uses the blood he gained from her during the battle to call upon the power to transcend dimensions and send some of his mana in search of the true answer to stopping Maisha - not a sword, but someone who can end her sorrow.
As the stolen souls return, with Eris and Rowen knowing it was thanks to Setus. Aluzard feels exhausted that it's all over, but Sekka says they have to explain to everyone what happened as they must be terrified after always living in a peaceful Vellsar. Drache suggests they can gather everyone together for a drink to cheer them up, with Aluzard being in charge of the catering.
