Information

Andrea Rondo[1] is a supporting character and former secondary antagonist in Shadowverse Flame.

Biography[]

Andrea is a teacher at Shadowverse Battle College, being Light Tenryu's Japanese language teacher. Secretly she is also a member of the Seven Shadows, investigating undercover at the school.

Andrea's mother used to be a researcher looking to create some technology that would "save humanity". However, her mother was betrayed by her Director who stole her theory and fired her, which led her mother to die in despair. Andrea tried to investigate her theory to finish her work, but despite her best efforts, Andrea could never even understand what she was investigating. Thus, she decided to found the Enigma group to save humanity by digitizing it and freeing it from the despair of reality.

Wolfram Zerga recruited her into the Seven Shadows after she became one of the best players in the world, though Andrea joined to fulfill her goal with Enigma, something in which she found an unexpected ally in Hina Sinclair.

Light comes to her asking for a strong Shadowcraft player to battle, in order to get stronger and defeat Haruma Hazeura. Andrea decides to be his opponent, revealing herself as a Grandmaster ranked player. She gives Light some advice during the battle and compliments him when he makes the right moves, leading him to awaken Laevateinn Dragon's multiple evolution mechanic.

Previous to the last day of the Shadowverse World Ranking, Andrea is challenged by Tsubasa Takanashi who wanted to become stronger to go further in the competition.

Andrea is the only one who remains absent during the meetings of the Seven Shadows, even when the others receive the World Ranking winners in the Shadow Area, she prefers to wait directly in her assigned area. When the group arrives at her area, shocked to find out that their teacher is actually a Seven Shadow, Tsubasa decides to challenge her again. Although Andrea maintains her position that all light ends in despair, Tsubasa remains positive and cheerful despite losing again, which surprises Andrea.

When the Arc Ruler begins its invasion of Nekome City, Andrea and the rest of the Seven Shadows are sent to defend the city from the DigiFriends turned into Shade monsters with the Nexa System. However, when Tsubasa and Ren were on their way to the Sky Tower to destroy it, Andrea and Hina stood in their way, declaring not to let them get there. Reserved for her secret plans, Andrea fixes the Shadowverse battle system that will be in tag format to generate biological feedback that damages the real body.

During the battle, Andrea reveals that she is the leader of Enigma and that she was already aware of the existence of the Arc Ruler, coming to accept the destruction of the world that it intended as the salvation of humanity. When Ren and Tsubasa win thanks to the evolution of their DigiFriends, Tsubasa tries to convince Andrea that she can reach the light, but Andrea believes that it is too late for her to believe in hope and miracles. Thus, she decides to fall to her death in the void of the terrain destroyed by the battle, questioning the mistakes she made. Hina would later join her, to be together as villains until the end. She then believes that evil will never be defeated.

Andrea and Hina somehow survive the fall and are taken to the hospital. With the world safe, the two leave and become missing persons, deciding to find a new purpose.

However, Arc Ruler altered Andrea's memory making her thinks she has saved humanity.

Andrea then watches Light and Mikado battle happily with Hina.

Personality[]

Andrea is a quiet person who has a consistently gloomy demeanor. She is shown to have a very bleak view of the world in the wake of a tragedy involving her mother, stating that the world is filled with despair. Even so, she is a caring person who look after others, happily watching the progress of young people.

As a child, Andrea used to be a happy and cheerful girl. However, seeing how her mother succumb to despair and find herself powerless to recover her light, she changed to what she is today. She came to "give up on the world", preferring to see it destroyed or abandon it rather than continue in it, believing that the solution to "save" humanity is a controlled and error-free life in the digital world.

Deck[]

Andrea uses a Shadowcraft deck. She focuses in the Reanimate mechanic that brings back her destroyed followers, mainly through her ace, Lord of Resurrection, who gives followers Storm. She also uses various Necromancy effects, using cards like Soul Sniper to keep enough shadows in her graveyard.

Her deck contains several secondary ace cards like Soul Legion and Funeral Caller that power up her strategies, as well as the Burial Rite mechanic that she uses in conjuntion with the three wraith cards to create a combo with the special spells they create.
