Burial Rite is a mechanic exclusive of the Shadowcraft class, also seen rarely in Portalcraft, introduced in Chronogenesis.
Burial Rite effects are activated by placing a follower from your hand into play and immediately destroying it. All effects are removed from that follower before summon it, so none of them are activated. Any follower can be used as long you have an open space in your area.
