Drache is one of the main protagonists of Entropy's Abyss, Entropy's Abyss: Reconclusion, The Final Loop and Whispers of Purgation: Last Words.
Drache is a leader of the Dragoncraft class. His leader skin can be purchased through the in-game shop as part of the 6th Anniversary Leader Pack.
Personality[]
Drache is aggressive, assertive and straightforward. Still, he has a noble side that can guide him to do the right thing.
He once had an ambitious dream to stop the endless conflict plaguing Vellsar, but all this shattered when his grandfather died and he was forced to take over as leader of the dragonewts. When everybody else lost sight of this dream in favor of helping the clan claim dominion over Vellsar, Drache's hopes were quickly extinguished, making him disinterested in leading the clan and even driving him to lash out at his kin.
Story[]
History[]
Drache had a happy childhood and planned to clear the dark sky of Vellsar, finding peace and freedom for all of Vellsar. However, after the death of Drache's grandfather, Drache was made leader of the clan with plans for him to use the Searstone, an object of great power that grants its power to those who touch it, and overthrow the Lord of Darkness. Drache was treated as a leader by his clan instead of as himself and rejected the role that was unwillingly thrown upon him. Despite him being the only one able to wield the Searstone's power and survive, all Drache desires was soar freely in the blue sky, a dream that was forgotten by the rest of his clan and replace with one of conquest.
Entropy's Abyss[]
In an argument with the dragonewt Greitz, Drache rejects the title of leader and the clan's goal of ruling the world by overthrowing the Lord of Darkness but refuses to explain what he really wants and storms off.
Drache goes to a bar where he discovers a new patron, the vampire Aluzard. After several rounds of drinking, he ends up antagonizing Aluzard, who is indifferent to Drache's taunts. Drache grows irritated at Aluzard's indifference, and a fight nearly breaks out as Aluzard mentions the pointlessness of the conversation. Aluzard tells Drache that his frustrations are stemmed from a different issue, displaying a deep understanding of Drache that unsettles him. Aluzard notes he has encountered Drache several times as an enemy and friend, his knowledge and pity for Drache frustrates him into leaving. Upon leaving the bar, Drache orders some dragonewts to ambush Aluzard and expresses his frustration with the state of the world.
Drache returns to his clan and Greitz, who chastises him for his recklessness with Aluzar and irresponsibility. The argument quickly escalates with Drache refusing to accept being leader, but refusing to explain why, and Greitz's insistence that he grows up and take the mantle of leader. Drache snaps that Greitz and the clan only see him as a leader and not a person anymore, forgetting their promise of freedom. Drache's insolence draws the ire of the clan, who claim that Drache needs to defeat the Lord of Darkness for the clan to survive, but despite Greitz's attempts to mediate their outburst, Drache lashes out at them and Greitz for forgetting their promise.
After fighting for a bit, Greitz insists Drache is fated to be leader, but Drache refuses to listen and injures him, further angered at his clan's refusal to accept his true self. The clan is horrified by Drache's outburst and Greitz rises to stop Drache from further hurting the clan and begs him to apologize and make amends. Drache refuses to give a fake apology and deserts the clan. The clan urges Greitz to become their leader instead of Drache and Greitz, believing Drache is now beyond being reasoned with, decides to take responsibility for Drache and finish the matter for good.
A Drache broods over recent events, Fleauesse appears in front of him. She hints she knows about Drache's problems and that he will soon find his happy ending, cryptically mention the upcoming end of a cycle. She shows Drache a vision of him killing Greitz, claiming it was another life, a different cycle. Confused, Drache lashes out at Fleauesse, but she repels him easily and claims that no matter the cycle, he cannot change the world. The conversation is interrupted by dragonewts sent to bring in Drache and Fleauesse disappears. The dragonewts confront Drache, but he fights them in a fit of rage.
As the fight drags on, Drache becomes outnumbered and injured, forcing him to retreat. However, he finds Greitz waiting for him, who is prepared to finish things.
Greitz wonders how Drache turned out like he did, recalling memories of his grandfather and the time spent with Drache growing up. Greitz declares Drache has gone too far hurting his clan and prepares to fight, questioning Drache why he blames the clan for his problems. Drache refuses to answer, believing there to be no point in explaining, and attacks Greitz, accusing him of seeing him as only a leader a not as a person and taking away his freedom with a forced fate. With neither side unwilling to back down, the two dragonewts clash.
After the fight goes on for a bit, Greitz reveals he has the Searstone in his possession and plans to use it, despite all except Drache unable to handle its power and burning to ash in under a day. Drache recalls Aluzard's words and the parting words his grandfather and realizes his anger is misplaced. Greitz admits he understands Drache's frustrations with his forced fate, but insists on continuing the fight. Drache refuses to fight anymore and admits all his hate and anger is aimed at himself and that Greitz is like a father to him. He admits the person he truly needed acceptance from was himself, taking out all his frustrations with himself on others. He reveals the dream he had as a child and the promise Greitz and the clan made with him during those happy times, but those dreams and promises were forgotten while only Drache remember. He offers to let himself die to keep Greitz from using the Searstone, but Greitz admits he could never kill Drache. Greitz planned to goad Drache into fighting him and touch the Searstone to gain its powers at the cost of his life. He admits he lost sight of what was really important and the promises he made and apologizes to Drache. The two dragonewts make amends and Drache makes Greitz promise to lead alongside him. Greitz asks Drache why he seeks freedom so much and Drache answers that it is to drive away the darkness of Rivayle.
Entropy's Abyss: Reconclusion[]
As Greitz and Drache argue about Drache's refusal to become clan leader and Drache storms off after a brief scuffle while Greitz is compelled by the dragonewt clan to deal with him. While brooding in anger, Drache is approached by Sekka and recalls a memory of her from a previous cycle. Drache brushes her and Kagero's questions about the deja vu off in his anger, but when the two mention Aluzard's name he recalls another memory of him from a previous cycle. Realizing he is the link between the three and the cycles, Drache admits he has been seeing visions and agrees to help investigate Aluzard after he deals with his problems with his clan.
Aluzard laments the prison of time loops he is trapped in and is found by Kagero and Sekka. They question him about the deja vu and visions, but he refuses to answer them. Drache arrives and further presses the questions, but Aluzard still refuses to answer because he believes it would be pointless. Aluzard reveals the three have met with him before upon somehow remembering previous cycles and joined forces with him, but they are all killed in the end. Having enough of the conversation, Aluzard unleashes his incredible power and kills the three so they will not remember the previous cycles and not be trapped in the same despair as him.
Drache awakens at the start of a new cycle and remembers Aluzard cutting him down. He finds Aluzard drinking in the pub and prepares to fight him, offering him a taste of his blood before their rematch. Aluzard claims that Drache cannot defeat him and that it is pointless to try, but Drache doesn't care and fights regardless.
During their fight, Aluzard remembers he had fought Drache in a cycle where he had gained the power of the Searstone, but his focus is much stronger in the current battle. Drache tells Aluzard the same thing he once told him, the source of his suffering is an internal problem, not external. Aluzard argues that nothing he does makes a difference, and he is powerless against the fate he has been dealt and his previous actions of help were just whims. Drache counters that it doesn't matter if his decisions were whims or not, for they have changed him for the better, landing a hit before dying from his injuries.
Aluzard continues killing Drache, Sekka, and Kagero in countless cycles when they persist in trying to find a way to break the loops growing more frustrated with each death. He recalls he has tried every possible option and could not change fate, but despite their constant failures, Sekka, Drache, and Kagero continue trying to reach out to him in the next cycle. Drache points out Aluzard is the only one who understands the time loops, but reveals that they want to do more than break the loop, they want so save Aluzard from his despair no matter how many times they die. The three prepare to fight once more and Aluzard unleashes his full power.
Drache, Sekka, and Kagero fight against Aluzard to convince him to find a way to break the loop and to repay the favors he has given them. The three manage to push Aluzard back, but he refuses to yield and attacks with his full power in one last clash. Over the thousands of battles the two sides have waged throughout the cycles, Aluzard is defeated for the first time and the three promise to keep fighting no matter how many cycles they go through.
In the darkness of Vellsar, the Lord of Darkness's tower stands as a symbol of despair and doomed fate, but Drache and Sekka arrive ready to change that fate. Upon reaching the tower's base, the two recall their defeats at the hand of the Lord of Darkness as Aluzard catches up and enacts his plan. The three find Fleauesse, who believes they are going after the Lord of Darkness, but Aluzard reveals she is the one they are after. Fleausse points out that fighting her is pointless, for she sees everything in Vellsar and can predict the outcome. The group refuses to back down and Fleauesse decides to unleash her power, claiming they are weak compared to her.
Fleauesse overwhelms the three with her power and boasts she knows absolutely everything about them. She prepares to finish the three off and start the cycle once more, but the three stand back up and charge at full strength. Kagero reveals he inhabited Aluzard's sword and waited for the moment to strike. Aluzard explains he kept the plan a secret from everyone else and Sekka and Drache trusted his plan even though they didn't know what it was. He declares the group has performed a miracle, the same kind that freed him from his despair. Fleauesse reveals the strike can't kill her, as there is only one method to do so, but admits her belief that Vellsar and those who lived in it were meaningless was proved wrong. Aluzard asks Fleauesse about the real secret of Vellsar and Fleauesse reveals that before the Lord of Darkness came to be, Vellsar was known by a different name: Rivayle.
After Fleauesse explains the connection between Rivayle and Vellsar, Sekka is able to grasp a small idea of it, before being annoyed by Fleauesse's vagueness. She explains further that the Vellsar group as the destined ones for keeping their sense of times, which leaves Sekka unconvinced. Drache resolves that they should simply return to Rivayle in order to overcome its trial, but Sekka laments at the idea of disappearing if they were to succeed. However, he decides that disappearing is better than repeating the same cycle, resulting in impressing the others, including Sekka. Fleauesse interrupts saying that she can use her power in order to make this happen once, leaving Sekka questioning what exactly is Fleauesse. With new determination, Sekka and the gang traverse to overcome fate.
The Final Loop[]
During Selena and Maiser's battle against Zecilwenshe, Maiser prepares to fire at Zecilwenshe and the latter prepares to reveal something, but is killed by Drache. Selena is distrustful of Drache and Zecilwenshe rises in another body to reveal her anger is because she is trying to keep Maiser from learning that he has been killing innocent citizens that Zecilwenseh has been possessing. Zecilwenshe escapes after slitting the throat of the body he is currently possessing and despite Selena's attempts to convince Maiser otherwise, he learns the truth of his actions. Drache confirms the reality of the situation and Selena, angered at Drache's meddling, aims her gun at him. Despite not wanting to fight and Selena's threat, Drache refuses to take back his words about reality about how people have died. In a desperate attempt to keep Maiser from accepting the reality of his actions, Selena attacks Drache. Despite Maiser's attempts to calm her, Selena drags him into the fight against Drache, but Drache expresses his anger at the situation he is in and the two refusing to accept reality and fights back.
Drache proves to be resilient against Selena and Maiser's magic and continues declaring that people have died by the two's hands during their fight with Zecilwenshe. Maiser stops Selena's attempts to deny reality and accepts what he has done and explains to Drache how he accidently killed a woman in the past and how it affected him. Drache shares memories of cycles where he killed his clan and loved ones and accuses Maiser of pushing his need for forgiveness onto others. He then condemns Selena for trying to hide Maiser from reality and tells Maiser that his sins are not meant for judgement but a burden he must carry. He then asks them about the trial of Rivayle and Maiser explains they are after Iceshillendrig, giving Drache a sense of direction. Before leaving, Drache tells Maiser and Selena they must face their actions instead of hiding from them.
Drache rescues a pair of wealth citizens from a monster and meets up with Sekka. Sekka shows Drache the bullet Kagero entrusted to her to give to Aluzard. Before Drache can fly Sekka to Aluzard, Nahtnaught arrives and begins attacking everyone around her. Nahtnaught attacks Sekka and Drache and demands the two tell her who they are. Despite her great power, Drache fights back against the Titan. Drache and Sekka are unable to hurt Nahtnaught because her magic, which allows her to seal away or expel anything. Seeing the two as an unexpected intrusion of her plans, Nahtnaught prepares to kill them. Sekka has Drache take the bullet to Aluzard while she stays behind to buy time and also tells Drache about Bunny's connection to Fleauesse.
Vincent begins usign the people he put under his control to fight Aluzard, but Drache arrives to give him support. Vincent senses Drache has traded blows with Maiser and Drache reveals Maiser is fighting near where Nahtnaught is destroying everything, but Vincent makes it clear he doesn't care about Maiser's fate. Drache gives Aluzard the bullet, the information about Bunny, and warns him of Iceshillendrig's reclamation. Aluzard leaves to take action with the information he has been given while Drache stays behind to fight Vincent.
Drache continues fighting Vincent, despite being overpowered, and Vincent recognizes that they are both running out of magic. The battle is interrupted by Maiser, but Vincent, aware of his reasons for coming, tells him he will not back down. Vincent offers to let Maiser walk away if he gives up, but Maiser refuses and fights alongside Drache.
The battle against Vincent is interrupted by the Shades and Vincent leaves to address the problem while Maiser and Drache fight the Shades. Drache and Maiser become overwhelmed by the number of Shades and Drache determines that they must stop their leader. While fighting, Drache condemns Maiser for letting his feelings about Selena distract him and urges him to come forward with them to her. A giant shade attacks the two and Drache takes it on alone while Maiser goes to find Selena.
Nahtnaught summons Kagero, Sekka, Drache, Maiser, and Selena to the battle using her power and Vincent uses his power to heal and empower everyone for the battle. Everyone's combined efforts bring Iceshillendrig the brink of defeat, but they are wary dealing the final blow for fear of Iceshillendrig's Reclaimation taking their lives in exchange.
After Iceshillendrig's demise, the others worry about Nexus, but Drache has faith that Aluzard will win.
In the aftermath of the battle, Vellsar and Rivayle have become separate and those that came from Vellsar have returned to it. In Vellsar, the Lord of Darkness is no more, and the clans have made peace. Drache and Aluzard have a drinking contest and are found by Sekka and Kagero who join the celebration.
Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]
The group return to Vellsar after the battle at Rivayle and find a peaceful world thanks to creating a new future without the Lord of Darkness. One day when her companions were planning to open a bar, Sekka interrupts them saying that Drache should plan better. She comments that there are fewer and fewer people on the streets lately, some even locking themselves in their houses in fear for days.
At the tavern, everyone is talking about the rumors of the missing, with Drache complaining that the dragonewts haven't found any clues about it in their patrols. There, Gido bursts in with his men, saying that he found traces of Sekka's blood in an alley, something that could only have been done by Kagero or Aluzard. Although Aluzard denies his guilt, Kagero doubts that Tsukikage could have taken control again. Gido decides to leave guards to watch him while he goes off to investigate with Drache and Aluzard.
Drache and Greitz find tracks of wolves that had been attacked, covered in blood and tears. Greitz tells how Drache has become more like his grandfather, being the leader that is needed after the loss of Gido disorganizing the wolves and the absence of anyone to lead the Yokai. Greitz comments on how the disappearances and depression that fill Vellsar get worse every day, to which Drache says that someone is looking for a fight, so he asks Drache to look for something before leaving to find Aluzard. At the tavern Drache finds all the customers depressed and Aluzard serving in the absence of the barkeeper. Drinking with him, Aluzard says he is scared that a Keeper is interfering with his world, but this time he will only have one chance to face it, though Drache states that they must look to the future. Aluzard tells him to trust his instincts to fight head on, leading Drache to confess that he asked Greitz to bring him the Searstone, which Aluzard says will be vital to his own plans. Upon confronting Maisha, Drache loses control of his own flames and Maisha takes him hostage to force Greitz to hand over the Searstone despite Drache asking him not to as Drache's life has become more valuable to him than anything else. Greitz is then absorbed by Maisha after grieving for everything he lost, leading her to explain that Sorrow's power allows her to synchronize others' emotions with the same pain and loneliness she suffered, until Sorrow devours their identities allowing Maisha to absorb them after their pain synchronizes with hers. Maisha also absorbs the Searstone, demeaning it in comparison to Nerva's power, and Drache says that he can only count on Aluzard as he is absorbed as well.
In the spirit world, the souls of Sekka, Kagero and Drache are plunged into the darkness of Sorrow. However, the three are confronted by figures from their pasts they thought were missing: the Nine-Tailed Fox, Tsukikage and the former leader of the Dragonewts. Drache hears from his grandfather through the Searstone as he apologizes for failing him as a leader and family just thinking that he must make him strong for the sake of his dream of taking the Dragonewts to new heights. With their hearts renewed, the three heroes follow Aluzard's call back to the physical world, free from Maisha's Sorrow.
Drache finally flies her away and calls upon the power of the Searstone to envelop her in the power of his flames.
As Eris traps Maisha inside a barrier, Aluzard finally declares that it is checkmate as the power of his blood cancels out the souls she absorbed and will also allow him to free them. Maisha doesn't understand how she could fall to a gamble of miracles and luck, but Aluzard says that it's actually trust in the hope she found in her companions after so many lives and that a hero is not something you call yourself but what those who give you that hope call you. Maisha then has an emotional breakdown, cursing that things will never be fair and that no one but Nerva will ever care about her wishes, unleashing a surge of power that Rowen barely manages to shield everyone from. As Maisha suffers and more power is released, Aluzard concludes that the more Sorrow she feels, the more power she will have but at the same time she will not be able to control it. Maisha then opens a portal calling for Nerva and Drache urges Aluzard to do something before she takes Vellsar's souls with her, but Aluzard says that there is no way to follow her to another dimension, which is why he had put so much emphasis on weakening her, but now she has removed the restrictions he put on her with his blood. However, as a last resort, Aluzard asks Drache to push him to Maisha, using his Blood Arts to resist her mana.
As the stolen souls return, Aluzard feels exhausted that it's all over, but Sekka says they have to explain to everyone what happened as they must be terrified after always living in a peaceful Vellsar. Drache suggests they can gather everyone together for a drink to cheer them up, with Aluzard being in charge of the catering.
