Fleau spoiler wink "Now now, how would you like to end?"

Iceschillendrig or "Icey" is the Titan of Prosperity, one of the three Titans who rule Rivayle. After creating Vellsar, he becomes known as The Lord of Darkness. He is the main antagonist of Fate's Trigger, Fate's Trigger: Conclusion, Entropy's Abyss and Entropy's Abyss: Reconclusion, and one of the antagonists of The Final Loop. He also appears as a supporting character in Whispers of Purgation: Last Words.

Iceschillendrig is a leader of the Portalcraft class. His leader skin can be obtained by obtaining his leader card in Omen of Storms.

Personality[]

Iceschillendrig describes himself as "a distinctive creature, altogether superior to you lowly miscreants." He is pompous, haughty, arrogant, conceited and vain, demanding that others treat him with the reverence and respect he feels he deserves as the most wealthy and powerful person in Rivayle, one of its Titans and a demigod. Although he is calm, collected and composed under most circumstances, he is easily irritated, especially when it comes to the performance of his employees or anyone who fails to show him the veneration he expects. Those who are discourteous or insolent towards him, fail to deliver on his expectations or make him feel that his time has been wasted most incur his disdain.

In spite of this, Icey isn't always entirely inhospitable, as he is well liked and admired among Rivayle's affluent population as well as many of his underlings. He is able to have an amicable and polite conversation with Maiser, albeit after an attempt to intimidate him. While they do occasionally bicker, he also appears to get along very well with and even cares somewhat for his right hand man Zecilwenshe. After Zecil's final defeat at the hands of Illganeau, he genuinely laments that it was "Too bad Zecil had to go" and that losing him wasn't what he envisioned. However, he is not above using and deceiving those he is on pleasant terms with for his own personal gain, such as the rich citizens who he marks with his Seal.

Icey is driven by his insatiable craving for what he believes he has lost and his extreme fear of death. He says that nothing frightens him more than "naked mystery," and as such is terrified by the unknown and not knowing what will happen when he dies, as even he "cannot fathom what's beyond the veil." Dying is his greatest fear and he will go to even the most desperate lengths to keep himself alive, believing it to justified in the name of preserving the life of a god; his life. Because Icey is the one of the three original Titans, he apparently still recalls having existed as (part of) Rivayle's creator god, though he does not remember (or never knew) who precisely that god was. As a result he yearns to once again have the power of a full and true god, so he may rule Rivayle (or whatever new world he chooses to create) as a single omnipotent entity. Overall, although he is a deity who presides over prosperity, the only prosperity Iceschillendrig greatly cares for is his own.

Story[]

History[]

Iceschillendrig was one the three original Titans created by Fleauesse to rule over Rivayle. He was born from the aspect of greed and hungered for fortune, in order to kindle ambition in the hearts of mortals and bound the world together.

Iceschillendrig established the "Syndicate" that manages business and goods manufacturing.

Due to his insatiable craving to once again be a true god along with his fear of death, Iceschillendrig refused to appoint a successor and instead continued to live as the only Titan of Prosperity who has ever existed, despite falling gravely ill due to his age.

At some point, he began to work with Fleauesse to find a method of truly living forever, regardless of not trusting and knowing very little about her. Wretches came into being as a result of her "diverting the flow of life and death". Iceschillendrig also gave Zecilwenshe his magical enhancements to turn him into his personal assasin.

Fate's Trigger[]

Iceshillendrig is informed of Bunny and Baron's robbery and escape and orders a search for them by bribing people for information. When he learns Nahtnaught is supporting them, he decides to unleash Zecilwenshe to get the information as his body pangs from illness.

Maiser is brought to Iceshillendrig and he questions him about the actions of his henchmen. Iceshillendrig declares that Rivayle belongs to him and he can take any action he wants inside it. Maiser objects to Iceshillendrig's declaration, but after a show of intimidation by Iceshillendrig, he moves on and allows Maiser to ask questions . Maiser asks Iceshillendrig why he is gathering so much money, but Iceshillendrig tries to intimidate him again by making it clear he can kill Maiser whenever he wants, but Maiser realizes that Iceshillendrig's intimidations are disguising his desperation to keep his plans secret and that he can't afford to waste his resources currently hunting for Bunny and Baron to kill him. To get Maiser to leave, Icechillendrig admits he is gathering money from debtors and hunting Bunny and Baron, but refuses to disclose anything else. Iceshillendrig sends Maiser away and sends out for someone to trail Maiser and kill him if he presents a threat to his plans.

With his true power unleashed and the henchmen being unable to reinforcements from their garrison, Maiser defeats them. However, Iceshillendrig arrives and reveals that he will not stand for Bunny and Baron's defiance against him, even if they have allied with Nahtnaught, and declares war is brewing. He then decides to reclaim the damages Maiser inflicted on him and unleashes his power against him. Maiser tries to retaliate, but his bullets won't activate because they were made by Iceshillendrig's syndicate. Before Iceshillendrig can use more of his power on Maiser, Vincent arrives and uses his own power to restraint Iceshillendrig. Iceshillendrig concedes the fight and disappears after learning that Vincent will oppose him if he is forced to. Maiser collapses from the curse Iceshillendrig inflicted on him and Vincent apologizes for putting him in such a situation but is more concerned about the upcoming war between the Titans.

Fate's Trigger: Conclusion[]

As Rivayle has broken out into war with Nahtnaught's forces fighting Iceshillendrig's, Iceshillendrig discusses the starting rebellion with Fleauesse, complaining about the defiance of those he sees as below him. Fleauesse promises not to interfere, but Iceshillendrig doesn't trust her because even though he needs her power for his plans, she is the only source of that power and that puts him in a difficult position. Fleauesse restates she is a guardian of Rivayle, though she is only a spectator, before disappearing. Iceshillendrig readies his henchmen for the rebellion and prepares a special magic seal for his plans.

Nahtnaught's forces begin to overwhelm Iceshillendrig's, but Wretches controlled by an out of control Illganeau are appearing and attacking everything in sight. Nahtnaught puts Illganeau's rampage off of the time and is informed that Iceshillendrig has been marking people from the Golden Hills with a special seals. Nahtnaught is intercepted by Vincent, who reveals that the previously mentioned seal is Iceshillendrig's secret weapon. All those marked with the seal have been unknowingly turned into moving bombs that could be detonated at Iceshillendrig's command.

Arisa and Bunny infiltrate Iceshillendrig's mansion and confront the Titan of Prosperity. He reveals he has been expecting the two and he is the one who created Zecilwenshe. He reveals that all the deaths he caused mean nothing to him because he believes they were fated to die and no one can escape it, with him as the exception. Iceshillendrig declares he created Rivayle as he blasts away his mansion with his power. He recalls Rivayle's history: an empty world that was filled with only a single stone that was collected by the being who would create Rivayle. The god split itself into three parts, one of Force, one of Order, and one that seeks to reunite itself through Prosperity. He reveals that he has lived since the beginning of Rivayle and all that time his desire to become a whole god again has never ceased. Arisa and Bunny fight Iceshillendrig, with the latter referring to their battle as a trial for his Reclamation.

Bunny's attacks fail to injure Iceshillendrig due to her bullets coming from his syndicate and his Reclamation prevents anything stolen from him from inflicting harm. Iceshillendrig uses his Reclamation to curse Bunny and inflict great pain onto her while revealing he is terrified of death and that he refuses to let it happen to him. Arisa saves Bunny with her power of aether and since it does not originate from Iceshillendrig, it is unaffected by his Reclaimation. Iceshillendrig is surprised there is a force other than something called the Lodestone that could resist a god and Bunny urges Arisa to kill Iceshillendrig and end his grip over Rivayle. Meanwhile, Vincent and Nahtnaught's fight is interrupted when the sense Iceshillendrig's seal has been activated. Arisa prepares to kill Iceshillendrig.

Arisa mortally wounds Iceshillendrig, but he reveals his power reclaims whatever is taken from him as he rises and kills Bunny. Iceshillendrig reveals that since Arisa took his life, his Reclamation will allow him to take her body as his new vessel. He also reveals that he had spent centuries trying to be killed to claim a new body, but when none of them came, he had to switch to other plans until Arisa arrived. He takes Arisa's body and declares his godhood is reclaimed.

Entropy's Abyss[]

When Iceshillendrig possessed Arisa, her body proved to be incompatible with his being and as such he created Vellsar, a realm of monsters and spirits, out of Rivayle using the ritual he had prepared. The world's purpose was to have its warring clans of creatures fight until a more suitable vessel would appear for Iceshillendrig to possess. Due to the incompatible nature of Arisa's body, Iceshillendrig was forced to enter a state of slumber until a more suitable vessel arrived, becoming the "Lord of Darkness."

However, no matter the results of any confrontation against him or lack thereof, Fleauesse's time loop resets all that transpired.

The Final Loop[]

In a new cycle, Iceshillendrig is informed that Zecilwenshe has received fatal wounds and grows excited that someone other than a Titan could defeat him. Zecilwenshe suddenly possess the informant and explains he is at his limits due to his various defeats, revealing the new arrivals in Rivayle. Iceshillendrig orders Zecilwenshe to stay behind and recover while he personally investigates the matter. Realizing the situation is growing out of control, Iceshillendrig decides to unleash the seal to thin out his potential challengers in order to weed out the strongest one.

Baron reveals to Iceshillendrig that he has ammo immune to his Reclaimation and that he doesn't intend to kill him, but instead reduce him to a powerless state. Bunny and Baron attack Iceshillendrig to take back everything taken from them.

Baron wounds Iceshillendrig repeatedly, despite the latter's Reclaimation inflicting the same injuries onto the former. Iceshillendrig reveals his fear of death, but Baron counters that he has Bunny to live on for him while Iceshillendrig is alone. When Baron prepares to shoot to permanently subdue Iceshillendrig, Bunny joins him and aims her gun at Iceshillendrig. Before she can fire, Fleauesse appears and freezes everything except Bunny to speak with her privately. Bunny witnesses a vision of the cycle where she and Arisa killed Iceshillendrig and Fleauesse encourages her to shoot with the bullet Aluzard gave her.

When Fleauesse is shot, everything unfreezes and Fleauesse reveals she was the god who created Rivayle and split her power into three beings, the Titans. She also reveals the bullet Bunny shot at her was the Lodestone, the stone that existed before Rivayle, and the only thing in the world she did not create and that has the power to change its fate. Fleauesse absorbs Iceshillendrig's essence back into her and reveals that Rivayle is no longer hiden from reality.

Illganeau senses Iceshillendrig's presence, who has survived with a contingency plan. He merges with Zecilwenshe, who has been absorbing life force from those he possessed, and uses that power, along with the power his Wretch monsters have been stealing, to gain a new temporary form to exact revenge on those who stole his chance at a new vessel. He sends new waves of stronger Wretch monsters and Illganeau leaves to confront Iceshillendrig. Meanwhile, Nahtnaught and Vincent leave to confront Iceshillendrig.

Illganeau reaches Iceshillendrig and prepares to kill him for all the corruption and death he has caused. Iceshillendrig admits he doesn't have full control of his new body yet and sends out Zecilwenshe to fight for him. Illganeau is overwhelmed by the two, but she is saved by Vincent and Nahtnaught. The three join forces to defeat Iceshillendrig.

Vincent and Nahtnaught are overpowered by Iceshillendrig and Zecilwenshe, having grown stronger with Iceshillendrig's new power, overwelms Illganeau. Remembering Kagero's words about facing her sins, Illganeau gains new resolve and strength declaring she is different than Zecilwenshe because she has humanity. She destroys Zecilwenshe and Vincent and Nahtnaught begin inflicting damage on Iceshillendrig. Nahtnaught summons Kagero, Sekka, Drache, Maiser, and Selena to the battle using her power and Vincent uses his power to heal and empower everyone for the battle.

Everyone's combined efforts bring Iceshillendrig the brink of defeat, but they are wary dealing the final blow for fear of Iceshillendrig's Reclaimation taking their lives in exchange. To get rid of Iceshillendrig forever, Illganeau offers to kill him and be brought down to prevent him from possessing another vessel. She kills Iceshillendrig and he prepares to take her body as her new vessel. Before the other titans can kill Illganeau before she is fully possessed, Maiser discovers Illganeau is resisting his possession.

Iceshillendrig enters Illganeau's mind and prepares to destroy her soul so he can have complete control of her body. Illganeau confronts Iceshillendrig and reveals that she has remember the countless cycles they've lived through and through those cycles, she has learned that her essence is magic, giving her the power to resist Iceshillendrig. She overpowers him and finally kills him for good, fulfilling her promise to Istar.

Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]

When Nexus appears in Rivayle after being revived by Nerva as a vessel of Fury, she battles Illganeau, Arisa, Vincent, and Naughtnaught and captures the latter three in her dream world. The remaining heroes in Rivayle search for a way to stop Nexus while she is recovering from the intense battle and they discover a way to transfer the power of Titan's to themselves with a ritual called the "Song of Heaven and Earth", but at the cost of killing the current Titans and the risk of the Titan's power overwhelming and killing them. Illganeau, who survived her battle against Nexus, reveals that the third line of the "Song of Heaven and Earth" does in fact exist, but that it will not save the other Titans, something she knows thanks to Iceschillendrig, who appears in a ghostly form, making everyone tense. Illganeau reveals that after being defeated by Nexus, she spent time wandering the world between life and death, finding Iceschillendrig there and bringing him back with her inside her body in exchange for him helping them with what he knows. Although everyone is hesitant to trust him, Illganeau tells them that it's their only option. Iceschillendrig then reveals the third line of the ritual, that as long as there's a Titan present, it can be carried out without the other two and that it is a way that they can avoid dying during it, but only if they're willing to let Vincent and Nahtnaught die.

Iceschillendrig explains that they can split the Titans's power evenly into two halves so that they could resist it at the cost of reduced power, giving Selena and Maiser the power of Order and Bunny and Baron the power of Force.

As Nexus returns to Rivayle, Illganeau is left to fight her army of Shades while Bunny, Baron, Maiser, and Selena take on the Keeper. Iceschillendrig helps Illganeau as part of their deal and even summons Zecilwenshe to fight as well.

Nexus does another of her Reset and Restart, but time suddenly stops without her doing so. Illganeau appears declaring that there will be no time left, revealing that time is not asleep but "stagnated", which Iceschillendrig accomplished. Nexus doesn't understand how she can have power over time, but then recognizes the power of Stagnation, that of Fleauesse, which Illganeau received when the power of the three Titans converged into what Fleauesse split into when creating Rivayle. Nexus states that a mortal cannot use the power of a god like that, but Iceschillendrig reveals that he placed his seal on the four she fought with, which sent some of their magic towards him every time they used it, thus slowly receiving the magic of Order and Force. Thus, as soon as he saw that Nexus would use her power over time, Baron sent a signal through the seal to begin the ceremony that would inherit the power of the three Titans. Iceschillendrig and Illganeau manage to overpower Nexus as the power of Stagnation equals the power of a Keeper. Nexus attempts to turn back time again, but the power of Fury is dormant thanks to Iceschillendrig's Reclamation.

The two declare that the future of Rivayle belongs to their people before setting time running again. The five warriors join forces and destroy Nexus for good.

They all decide to celebrate with a meal together. Iceschillendrig congratulates them on their victory, but reminds them that it cost them Vincent and Nahtnaught's lives, but that it will be okay now that he has his powers and has become an absolute god. However, the power suddenly begins to drain from him as Nahtnaught and Vincent enter, still alive. Illganeau explains that the last line of the ritual had another meaning, that salvation would not come at the cost of death and the world inherited by a god, but that Fleauesse's love for humans promised divine protection in perpetuity as Fleauesse's legacy was passed from one generation to the next. Thus, having a companion during the ritual acts as a charm that increases one's life force to the point of resisting the ritual and thus preventing the deaths of one's predecessors. Illganeau tells Iceschillendrig that Fleauesse always wanted mortals to inherit the world and that the gods would never be an eternal presence, and Iceschillendrig admits that he was wrong about immortality and becoming a god and admits that he lost by returning into Illganeau's subconscious saying that his only wish now is to survive.
