Isabelle is one of the main protagonists of Shadowverse and chapters 1 through 9 of Story Mode. She is a brilliant alchemist who uses her knowledge for the benefit of humanity, but the tragic death of her fiancé Kyle Walker made her obsessed with the idea of resurrecting the dead.
Isabelle is the default leader for the Runecraft class. In Shadowverse: Evolve, her leader card can be obtained in SD03: Mysteries of Conjuration and BP01: Advent of Genesis.
Personality[]
Isabelle is always searching for ways to better her magic abilities, hoping to one day be powerful enough to bring her dead fiancé back to life. She is the most powerful mage in her home world, very friendly, and willing to help those in need. However, she is somewhat of a socially awkward recluse; she rarely leaves her laboratory before the appearance of the Morning Star, she claims that Kyle was the only one who understood her and that Eleanor was her first real friend, and her card flair states that "the world was too big and cold without him". Though she seems reluctant to come out of her shell- for example, when encountering Yuwan in Aiolon, the two exchange pleasantries and discuss the situation before quickly parting ways- she is kindhearted and motherly, often worrying about Luna and struggling to cope with the violence of battle. She is emotional, easily becoming angry or upset in a manner similar to Yuwan, but also self-aware and introspective.

Anime[]
A spirit who takes Isabelle’s form appears before Kai Ijuin in Episode 28, entrusting him with the Mythical Card. She returns in Episode 41, helping Kazuki escape the castle's dungeon and later holding off Erika and the Guards with her magic.
The Isabelle spirit also appears in Episode 42. When Kai is transported from his dream world to the world of his Mythical Card, he wakes up in her lab. Isabelle's spirit saves him from the soldiers who want to burn down her lab and then takes him to her hideout. However, she forces him to become a subject of experimentation to find the forbidden magic. Kai breaks free thanks to his Chrono Witch card and faces Spirit Isabelle in a Shadowverse battle.
Deck[]
In the anime, Spirit Isabelle uses a Runecraft deck composed entirely of spells, her only followers being the ones she summons by effects. Her main resource are the Four Elements spells, which activate her most powerful cards, Quadra Magic and Elements of Creation.

Trivia[]
- Isabelle is the only main character to have a difference in design between the Japanese and international applications of the game. In the Japanese app, her chest is more exposed with more visible cleavage. However, this is only the case with the original version of her design, since as of her 4th Anniversary edition leader and appearances in story mode from chapter 9 onwards, her new design is the same in both the Japanese and international apps. While it's officially unknown why her original design was changed for the international app, it may have been to prevent the game from receiving a higher age rating on non-Japanese app stores.
