"Now now, how would you like to end?" |
Isunia, also known as The Land of Shimmering Dew and Guilds, is the setting of The Guild War and The Guild War: Conclusion.
Canals have been dug throughout the city, making gondolas a major form of transportation. The heart of the capital is The Fountain of Prosperity. Unlike Aleister which is rule by a monarchy, Isunia is rule by Guilds that act like a council.
Guilds[]
Isunia is governed by a council of the five guilds: The Order of Bladerights, Countersolari, The Magis Covenant, Eschamali and the Forbidden Guild.
The Order of Bladerights[]
"Isunia's light, the sun of justice."'
Also known as The Guild of Knights. Originally led by the Bladeright's Marshal, Maisha Laforge was the Undermarshal, as recommended by Setus Law.
As the guild of justice, the Bladerights are tasked with defending Isunia, but as the need for military might has dwindled, the Bladerights have taken to dispatching magical lifeforms and assisting the citizens. Though their relationship with other guilds may be complicated, their relationship with Countersolari is especially volatile.
During the events of The Guild War, it is revealed that that the Order of Bladerights once consisted of two factions: The Sun Corps, who operated in and protects the public, and the Moon Corps, responsible for tasks not meant for the public's eye. Due to manipulation from the Keepers, the Sun Corps betrayed the Moon Corps and slaughtered many of its members. The survivors, led by Leod Black, broke off from the Order of Bladerights and established Countersolari.
Members of the guild were controlled to destroy Isunia by Maisha Laforge's power as a Vessel of Purgation until her defeat. Furthermore, the Bladeright's Marshal was revealed to have already been killed by Maisha Laforge before the events of the story and she hid this from the rest of the guild to act out her plans in secret. When Maisha is on the brink of defeat, Setus deals the finishing blow in order to take responsibility for his failure to foresee Maisha's plans and the destruction she caused.
At the end of the war, Setus Law took over as the Marshal of the guild.
Countersolari[]
"The false sun shall not rise. New glory for the true moon."
Also known as The Guild of Stealth. Countersolari was formed when the Bladeright's Moon Corps broke off after slaughter of several of its members unknowingly caused by the Keeper's manipulations. It sought to expose the Bladeright's traitorous actions against them in revenge for being betrayed and take their place. During the guild war, Maisha is revealed to be responsible for antagonizing the Moon Corps and continuing attacks on them to provoke the war and she kills Leod Black to take his sword. After the guild war ends and the truth is revealed, the surviving members of Countersolari return to being the Moon Corps.
The Magis Convenant[]
Also known as The Guild of Resplendence. This guild is conformed by magic users who spend their time with experiments. Its marshal is Eleanor Gloria, the youngest marshal and member of all guilds. Magis Convenant was known for not involving itself in the matters of Isunia and its members solely devoted their time to their magical experiments. After the Guild War, the guild became more involved with helping Isunia and openly sharing their research.
Eschamali[]
Also known as The Guild of Balance. Its original marshal was Marlone until he perished in the guild war and Nicola Adel took his place after the war. Eschamali serves to keep balance and order between the other guilds, mainly by collecting fines from other guilds when the cause trouble. During the war Eschamali suffered the worst out of the five guilds with the loss of Marlone, their temple, and a majority of their members. After the war Eschamali has become an insurance company and is helping the people of Isunia recover.
Nicola Adel[]
Also known as The Forbidden Guild. Its marshal and only member is its namesake, Nicola Adel. When Nicola becomes the new marshal of Eschamali after the guild war, the Forbidden Guild is effectively abolished due to its only member leaving.
