Information |
Kaguya Makabe is a supporting character in Shadowverse Flame.
Biography[]
He is Subaru's little brother and one of the Seven Shadows, being the second youngest member behind Hina Sinclair.
Kaguya and Subaru used to be close as children, but when Kaguya showed more talent than his brother, the two became distant. This is exacerbated when Kaguya was chosen to replace Subaru as heir of the family, causing Subaru to leave to live on his own, leading Kaguya to resent his cowardice.
After launching the Shadowverse World Ranking, Kaguya appears on the second day for an open challenge to the participants. Subaru ends up being the one who challenges him, and Kaguya cynically belittles him throughout the battle, making it clear that it's already too late to mend their relationship.
However, when Subaru is taken to the Shadow Area as one of the winners of the World Ranking, he confronts Kaguya again, adamant that they are brothers no matter what. Following the hatred he expresses towards Subaru, Kaguya finally confesses that what he really feels is pain because Subaru hates him. However, Subaru clarifies that this is not the case and determined to show his true feelings, he uses the Masquerade Ghost, Sincere to win the battle.
After this, Kaguya finally makes amends with his brother, giving him a data box containing Draconir's memories and also warning him that someone in the Seven Shadows is a traitor, so he should not trust anyone other than him.
When the Arc Ruler begins its invasion of Nekome City, Kaguya and the rest of the Seven Shadows are sent to defend the city from the DigiFriends turned into Shade monsters with the Nexa System. In the middle of this, Kaguya contacts Shion to ask about Subaru's whereabouts, to which they asks him to go help Subaru at the Gaia Tower. Kaguya also tells Shion how he discovered that the Seven Shadows' personal data had been manipulated, something only a brought-in member could have done.
When the Gaia Tower collapses after Erde's defeat, Kaguya saves Itsuki and Subaru by summoning Divine Contractor. After reporting what happened to Shion, Kaguya leaves to continue the fight against the Shades, telling his brother that he was really cool.
Following the defeat of Wolfram Zerga and the disappearance of the Tree of Woe, Kaguya decides to leave the Makabe and go live with Subaru, telling his father that he understood that he only cares about the household and not his children.
Personality[]
Kaguya is shown as blunt, stoic and standoffish. He likes being alone seems to only care about becoming stronger by himself. He has a lot of confidence in his skills and pride in his position as one of the Seven Shadows.
He displays a very bad attitude towards his older brother, constantly lowering him and making him feel a failure. However, this is revealed to be a facade to hide the pain Kaguya feels believing his brother hates him. After Subaru explains that he never really hated him, but rather hated himself, Kaguya becomes more like the kind brother he used to be.
Deck[]
Kaguya uses a Havencraft deck. His play revolves around followers that can't evolve with evolution points, but instead activate powerful effects if you have at least 2 evolution points. He combines them with the amulet Absolute Shrine to make them stronger and his best card, Divine Contractor, to protect them from damage and also clear the opponent's field.
He uses Evil Shrine to draw out the true power of his followers by allowing them to evolve without evolution points.
