Kazuki Shindō is a Swordcraft leader in Shadowverse, a supporting protagonist in the 2020 Shadowverse anime, and a supporting character in Shadowverse: Champion's Battle and Shadowverse Flame.
Biography[]
Kazuki is a 2nd-year student at Tensei Academy and one of the best friends of Hiro Ryūgasaki and Mimori Amamiya. His parents run a ramen restaurant, he plays his role as the eldest son by helping in the restaurant and taking care of his six younger siblings .
Kazuki is the worst Shadowverse player among the protagonists, something that leads Kai Ijuin to look down on him. However, he does make a big improvement in the in-store tournament where he has a very close battle with Hiro.
He accompanies Hiro on his quest to achieve Master Rank, along with Mimori acquiring a National Tournament invitation from Leon in the process. Despite losing in the second round, he supports his friends in the rest of the competition.
Kazuki then participates in the Shadow Grand Prix alongside his friends. There he has some problems with the animals on the island. His first battle is a tag battle with Kai against Zuo and Ko, the two manage to win and Kai gains a new respect for Kazuki. The two would later gain Gold Rank after defeating two Shadow Knights.
After reaching the end of the Shadow Grand Prix, Kazuki along with the other protagonists become the chosen ones to save the world from the Tree of Woe. To this end, Leon sends them to the ruins of the Mythical Cards. In the ruin, Kazuki confronts a Shadow-possessed Zuo and Ko, managing to win with the help of Hiro, acquiring the Mythical Card.
After fighting various Empty Shadows around the city, all seven are sucked into the Tree of Woe. Unlike the others, Kazuki is the only one whose dream world reflects his life as it is, already having his happiness in it. However, Asagi guides him out of his dream to the world of his Legendary Card, where he is captured by some knights and escapes with the help of Isabelle, only to be discovered by Erika and forced to face her in a Shadowverse battle. Upon winning, he return to the real world along his friends.
He finally joins the others to fight the Empty Shadows and later supports Hiro in his final battle with Leon.
After the battle between Hiro and Luca in the second Nationals, Kazuki and Kai decides to take their time preparing for the high-school exams. Three years later, during Shadowverse Flame, the two started to run Kazuki's family restaurant together. They meet Itsuki Mitsutagawa in Nekome and tells him about their familiarity with some of the Seven Shadows.
Later, while closing up the restaurant, Kai and Kazuki encounter the Shade monsters invading Nekome. Although Kai questions the origin of the crisis and its relation to what happened with Leon and the Tree of Woe, Kazuki urges him to go to Hiro's message to reclaim the Mithycal Cards sealed at Shadowverse College. On the way, both recieve help against the Shades from Zuo and Ko.
After the loss of the Mythical Cards and the Tree of Woe revived by Wolfram Zerga, Kai and Kazuki reunite with their old friends and put their faith in Light Tenryu.
Following the defeat of Wolfram Zerga and the disappearance of the Tree of Woe, Kai and Kazuki give Itsuki a "special prize", being two of the only ones who remembered that he and his friends were the saviors of the world.
Kazuki is a 2nd-year student at Tensei Academy and is friends with Hiro Ryūgasaki and Mimori Amamiya who are also in his homeroom class. His family owns a diner.
The three befriend the Protagonist on his first day at the academy, and together they decide to join the rumored Shadowverse club that faced disbandment if they didn't gather at least two members and win the National Tournament. Throughout the game, the club goes through tournaments and increases their ranks to reach the National.
Kazuki offers to help the baseball club by replacing one of its injured players. Seeing Kazuki's athletic talent, this member decides to resign from the club for not being as good as him. Kazuki faces a similar dilemma due to his lack of talent in Shadowverse, so he decides to show him that one should always try his best.Personality[]
Kazuki is energetic and friendly, sometimes clumsy and simple-minded. His is similar to Hiro as the both are passionate, sincere and hot-blooded. However, due to having to take care of his six younger brothers and sisters, he is surprisingly responsible.
Despite knowing that his Shadowverse skills are not the best, he always tries his best and enjoys each of his battles even if he loses. Although he wants to become stronger, it's not to the point where he denies his current self, and rather, he acknowledges his current self who does not give up and stands up even though he is clumsy.
Kazuki is more satisfied and happy than anyone else, as seen when the Tree of Woe don't create any wish for him in the dreamworld. This is proof that his heart is the purest.

Kazuki uses a Swordcraft deck. He focuses on swarming and quick attacking strategies, with his favorite, Victorious Blader, as a defensive resource.
