Leod Black is a supporting character in The Guild War and The Guild War: Conclusion. He was the marshal of Countersolari, one of the five guilds that rule Isunia, prior to being killed by Maisha Laforge.
Personality[]
Leod Black is a stoic man with a scary appearance. Despite this he is a kind person and a family man to his deceased daughter. He is also very vengeful towards The Bladerights Sun Corps for betraying him and killing his daughter. When he meets Erika he was reminded of his decease daughter and becomes somewhat protective of her due to his regret of never telling his deceased daughter how much he loved her.
Story[]
Backstory[]
Leod was once a member of the The Order of Bladerights as a member of the Moon Corps. At some point he had a daughter who resemble Erika and join the Moon Corps.
Due to manipulation from the Keepers, the Bladerights Sun Corps betrayed the Moon Corps and slaughtered many of its members. During the massacre he was able to steal the Sword of Truth a symbol of power in the Order of Bladerights and established Countersolari with the the survivors. At some point his daughter was killed by the Bladerights. It's unknown if she was killed during the massacre or after Countersolari was established.
The Guild War[]
Leod saves Erika from a water creature and warns her to stay back as a group of nights surrounded by strange energy attack. Erika helps the man fight off the knights and the man explains she is in a place called Isunia, where the sun and the moon have switched places.
Erika and the man cut down the knights and the man introduces himself as Leod Black. Erika recognizes the man was trying to protect her during the fight and that he is similar to her old compatriots when she was an assassin. She decides to follow Leod to figure out her next step. While following Leod, Erika is asked where she learned her assassination techniques, easily recognizing her skills. Another creature attacks the pair and Leod explains they are failed magical experiments created by Magic Covenant, one of the four guilds that rules Isunia. The two team up to fight the creature,
After destroying the creature, the two continue on and Leod takes Eric into a secret lair. Leod explains he can tell Erika is a former assassin and Erika realizes that the lair is similar to where she lived when she was an assassin. Leods explains he is a part of the guild Countersolari that plans to start a war.
Erika reveals she is from another world and Leod believes her story because of her skills, lack of knowledge of Isunia and that fact that others have come from different worlds before. Leod explains he is enemy is the Order of Bladerights, another of Isunia's guilds, which acts as the noble enforcers of law and order and have the trust of the people, but Leod reveals they've been deceiving everyone. The grudge passed from generations along with a sacred blade that serves as proof they were a part of the Bladerights, which they plan to use to expose the truth. Erika understands Countersolari's circumstances are similar to her past, along with the guilt she bears. Leod comforts her and asks her to help their cause.
Leod assures Erika she will not be forced to fight for Countersolari, and she decides to contemplate her decision. Leod takes her to another Countersolari lair because of the danger of the Bladerights finding them. While traveling to the lair, the two are found by Arisa, who reveals she's met with the Bladerights. Leod grows hostile towards Arisa at the mention of the Bladerights and the latter prepares to defend her, but Erika takes sides with Leod and fights Arisa. Yuwan's power interferes with the fight and Leod calls it off warning allies shouldn't hurt each other. Erika tells Arisa she has her own path and tells her not to approach her again as she leaves with Leod. Erika and Leod reach the new lair, but Erika decides to find Yuwan and learn why he interfered with the fight.
When she returns to the Countersolari lair, one of its members explains Leod has moved to another hideout and gives her directions. Erika finds Leod and declares she will help Countersolari. Leod reveals the Bladerights have made their move and asks Erika to save as many Countersolari members as she can and meet back with him.
The Guild War: Conclusion[]
As the war escalate, the citizen of Isunia are put in the crossfire. Leod spent his time searching for the mastermind and founds her fighting with Nicola on his hill. With Nicola defeated Leod appears and discover that Maisha Laforge is the mastermind and demands answers.
When Erika makes it to the hill she sees Leod fighting Maisha and joins in. Maisha reveals her real motive is to summon the keeper Nerva and waited for the right opportunity, causing the rifts between the guilds in the meantime. As Maisha is about to kill Erika, Leod sacrifices himself to save Erika by taking the blow. With Leod dying, Maisha takes his sword and teleports away. Leod's final words to Erika is that she looks like his deceased daughter and tells her to live.
