Maisha is a leader of the Portalcraft class. Her leader skin can be obtained by obtaining her leader card in Academy of Ages.

Personality[]

Maisa appears to be a kind individual who cares deeply about her home. However, this is reveals to be a facade as she is actually conniving, merciless, and willing do anything to achieve her goal.

She admits everything she does is for the sake of becoming Nerva's vessel again and gaining her power, the only thing that matters to her.

Story[]

History[]

Maisha comes from a world called Ladleur, in which people lived in a utopia under the suffering of "cogs", humans artificially mass-produced to carry out all the work. The cogs had no identity, no property, they were not even considered people, they were only sent to work until they had to be dispensed with. Maisha was produced at the Maisha District supply plant with a Laforge-class feminine frame. Hence, like 51,536 other units, she was a "Maisha-Laforge cog".

One day, Maisha found a young Maisha Cog in a bookstore, crying about how Cogs were treated even though they were humans too. Maisha was forced to report her and the young Maisha was eliminated and replaced, and Maisha could not but accept the fate of them all. However, in the alley behind the bookstore she found a picture book about heroes, in which the little girl had written "Maisha" marking it as her property. Maisha took that book as her treasure, but another Maisha eventually discovered it and reported it, so she was taken to the incinerator to be dispatched as the child. In her final moments, Maisha could not help but hate the world that condemned her for how she was born and wanted to see it and all its people burn. That was when Keeper Nerva contacted her and offered to grant her wish in exchange for her becoming her vessel.

After becoming a vessel, Maisha's entire world was destroyed by the Keeper, and Nerva abandoned her and her body afterward. Despite her entire world being destroyed, Maisha's was awestruck by Nerva's power and her only concern was becoming a vessel again.

She eventually reached the world of Isunia and was found by Setus Law. Setus invited her to join the Bladeright's guild and she became the undermarshal of the guild who was admired by the guild and public.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Maisha conspired to start a war to draw Nerva's attention in order to become a vessel again. She secretly murdered the Bladeright's marshal and hid his death, proclaiming he was injured and taking over the duties to control the Bladerights. She also raised tensions between the guilds and antagonized the Countersolari guild by using her power as a former Vessel to control Bladeright officers and have them launch attacks on Countersolari. It is unknown if she was directly responsible for the slaughter of the Moon Corps, or if it was the act of another Keeper.

The Guild War[]

Arisa arrives alone in a new world and is suddenly ambushed by a water creature and a woman tries to rescue her, but she trips and Arisa fights the creature in her place. After Arisa destroys the creature, the woman apologizes for not being much help and recognizes that Arisa is from a different land. The woman introduces herself as Maisha Laforge, the undermarshal of the Order of Bladerights. Arisa introduces herself and Maisha offers to show her around Isunia, the land of shimmering dew and guilds.

Maisha shows Arisa Isunia's canals, the source of its prosperity, and explains it is ruled by a council of five guilds. An argument between a large beastman and a girl and Maisha leaves to handle some important business. Maisha returns and the beastman introduces himself as Setus, a member of the Bladerights. Setus and Maisha decide to return to their headquarters and invite Arisa to join them, hoping to find a way to save Losaria. The trio reach the headquarters where Arisa meets more members of the guild. Maisha stays behind to attend to guild matter and Arisa accompanies Setus the Magis Covenant guild.

Setus goes to meet with Maisha at Eschamali. They explain that this morning, Magis Covenant ended up creating a large number of water creatures that went wild and have come to submit a report and seek compensation. When Marlone is unable to abide their request due to them not having Magis Covenant's seal, Setus grows angry at the lack of results and attacks Marlone. Before the fight can intensify, Maisha interrupts and suggests to Setus they try and get the Magis Covenant's seak again. Setus apologizes for losing his temper and leaves with Maisha.

Arisa and the members she is traveling with find Maisha helping out the town and meet up with Setus, who takes her and Maisha back to the headquarters to hear Arisa out. Arisa explains her encounter with Erika and Maisha explains that the man Erika was with was Leod Black, the marshal of Countersolari and an assassin who plans to create chaos in Isunia, but the guilds can't act against each other. However, Maisha has an idea to use the rule that guilds are allowed to protect themselves to help Arisa by asking her to join the Bladerights.

Despite her admiration of the Bladerights, Arisa refuses their offer and explains she can't be a member because she is from another world and searching for Losaria. Maisha understands, but explains she would still have their help even if she had to leave to find Losaria and asks Arisa to join once again and this time she accepts the offer. Suddenly, a member of the Bladerights arrives and reports there has been a murder and Countersolari is the main suspect.

In her way to the crime scene, Maisha bumps with Urias, who attacks her after sensing her power. Maisha refuses to draw her sword, which has been passed down from the Bladeright marshals and requires an immense amount of magic to wield, a power Maisha claims she doesn't have. Urias asks where the Bladeright marshal is, and Maish explains that the marshal is recovering so she is the temporary marshal. She also says that another Bladeright names Setus is much stronger than her and Urias decides to take his leave to search for Setus.

Everyone arrives at the crime scene, but Maisha arrives late. Maisha realizes that the murder was too obvious for Countersolari's work and they realize something is stirring. An assassin attacks Setus, but Arisa saves him and helps him fight.

Even though the assassins are defeated, they kill themselves to avoid being captured, horrifying Arisa. Setus leaves to inform Eschamali about the incident and Maisha privately tells Arisa that Countersolari is attempting to start a war to take control of Isunia. Maisha admits she is the weakest member of the Bladerights despite wielding a special sword passed down through the marshals capable of storing and releasing magic because she doesn't have the strength unsheathe it.

The Guild War: Conclusion[]

When the war starts, Maisha tells Setus she believes the Bladeright Marshal is behind the conflict and leaves, claiming she will stop it. Maisha then uses her control over the Bladerights to have them kill Marlone Median, who's power and intellect pose a threat to her plans, by having the controlled Bladerights kill Marlone's followers. The death of Marlone's followers leaves him unable to distribute his magic through them and eventually causes him to overload and die in an explosion. During the conflict, Setus, Arisa, and Yuwan discover the Bladeright's marshal is only a puppet being controlled and realize Maisha's deception.

Maisha then hunts down Nicola Adel and accuses him and Marlone of masterminding the war, but Nicola has already figured out she was also from another world and is the true culprit. Maisha admits to this and unleashes both the Bladeright's sword and her power as a Keeper's vessel to fight Nicola. She defeats Nicola because he holds himself back and seemingly kills him, but Leod Black arrives and discovers the truth about Maisha and the conflict. Leod reveals that the Bladeright's sword Maisha wields has spent its stored power during her fight against Nicola, while the Countersolari blade he wields retains its power, and engages her in battle.

During the battle against Leod, Erika arrives and asks Maisha why she is waging the conflict. Maisha answers that she seeks to resolve the conflict she started and become a "hero" so that Nerva will take notice and make her into a vessel again and used the arrival of the offworlders to ignite her conflict. She then attempts to attack Erika, but Leod takes the blow for her and is mortally wounded. Maisha takes Leod's blade and unremorsefully declares that all her murders were for the sake of becoming a hero. Setus arrives and tries to stop Maisha, only to be defeated by her. Before Maisha can attack Erika again, Arisa, Yuwan, Rowen, and Eris arrive and stop her. Maisha repels her adversaries and teleports away, seeking to extend her conflict as much as possible, foreshadowing her intention to kill Eleanor Gloria.

The offworlders rally to stop Maisha and confront her during her attack on Magis Covenant and Eleanor. Maisha then reveals she can make any defeated Bladeright officers under her control keep fighting so long as their arrive and teleports away, leaving the exhausted group to face her controlled army. The group is saved by Luna, Eleanor, and an alive Nicola Adel help fight. Nicola and Eleanor hold off the controlled officers while the offworlders confront Maisha again. Maisha unveils the Bladeright's and Countersolari's blades uses them against the group, but they endure their power and battle her. Through the groups combined efforts, Maisha is pushed to the brink of defeat and loses control over the Bladerights. Nicola attempts to land the finishing blow, but Setus takes the hit for Maisha. Setus admits he loved Maisha and takes responsibility for the failure of the Bladerights to stop her by dealing the killing strike himself. After the conflict is declares over, Setus watches over the dying Maisha and says his goodbyes as he lays her to rest.

The Empyrean Inn[]

Presumably while dying from Setus's attack, Maisha was sent to the world of Ametsuchi and had her memories taken.

The Empyrean Inn: Last Resort[]

When Taketsumi kills the Great Spider and causes the guests of Ametsuchi to regain their memories, Maisha recalls her past. Eager to please Nerva, she attacks Anisage, Mizuchi, and Si Long to keep them from interfering with Taketsumi's plan.

Though she is eventually defeated, Maisha buys enough time for Taketsumi to complete his transformation.

It is unknown what happened to her afterward, but she eventually returns to Isunia to face her death.

Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]

Maisha is revived by Nerva along with Nexus, Belphometh and Taketsumi, to become servants of the Keeper of Purgation.  Maisha is given the power of sorrow and she is sent to destroy Vellsar.

Maisha slowly begins to trap the souls of the inhabitants of Vellsar within her sword using trickery and manipulating the sorrow within them to make them vulnerable. She finally manages to capture Vellsar's heroes, Sekka, Kagero and Drache, leaving Aluzard in the end.

After appearing before him in his tavern and exchanging a couple of drinks after arguing about Maisha's ideals about Nerva, the two engage in battle. However, Maisha reveals that she contaminated the bloodshot reserves with her mana, managing to poison Aluzard, which he also attempted to do by putting his blood in the drink that Maisha was able to teleport at the last second.

Just as Maisha was about to eliminate Aluzard, Rowen and Eris appear to save him. Rowen sends Maisha flying and overpowers her with his dragon power and the boost she received from Arisa. Although Maisha admits defeat, Rowen is unable to finish her off since that would also mean destroying the souls she had captured. However, the souls of Sekka, Kagero and Drache are able to free themselves and return thanks to the mana that Aluzard had shared with them without their knowledge, as well as the support of certain deceased people from their pasts.

Thus, all together they manage to weaken Maisha enough to capture her for Aluzard to force her to release Vellsar's souls. However, the growing sorrow within Maisha releases an enormous amount of energy that she does not even control, freeing her from it and allowing her to open a portal to escape into the void between dimensions. Aluzard tries to reason with her, but Maisha admits that she always knew that she was never more than a tool for Nerva, but that is the only reason she has left to live.

In the void, Maisha encounters Setus Law, who had been guided to her by Aluzard's mana. There, Setus confesses his love for her and instead of fighting, he gives Maisha the affection that she never had. This finally frees her from her sorrow and returns the souls of Vellsar.
