Ranked Matches are a type of competitive play with Shadowverse. In Ranked Matches, players battle other randomly selected players to gain battle points in order to achieve a rank promotion.

On December 2017, two methods of Ranked Play were introduced: Rotation and Unlimited.

Rank[]

Ranks are based on a player's score. A player's score is a number that changes when winning or losing ranked matches, and extra score is obtained for a winstreak. When a player's score reaches a certain value, they get a rank promotion. In the same way, if the player's score drops below that value, they could demote.

There are seven ranks in Shadowverse: Beginner, D, C, B, A, AA, Master and Grand Master. From Beginner to AA, there are three intermediate ranks to go through before moving up to a new rank, starting at 0 and going up to 3. Moving up or down in intermediate ranks is determined by score, but once a main rank promotion is achieved, it is no longer lost no matter how low the score is. Promoting to A rank or higher requires the player to complete a test by winning two out of three ranked matches.

Grand Master[]

To achieve Grand Master rank, players must first qualify for critical trial matches. This can be achieved by reaching a total master score of 10,000 in one season or 25,000 over three consecutive seasons. Winning two out of three critical trial matches will net players special rewards and the Grand Master rank.

Rankings reset at the end of each period. Grand Masters return to the Master rank.

In the anime series, the Grand Master is a permanent rank granted to the absolute best players and is said to only be a few in the whole world.

Trivia[]

  • In the anime series, there is no Beginner rank and new players starts out in D rank.
