Ryoga Jasei is a Bloodcraft leader in Shadowverse and an antagonist in Shadowverse Flame. His Digital Friend is Demonium.

Biography[]

He used to be a student of Shadowverse College and president of the club Second Blood, after the previous president surrendered the position to him out fear of his strenght. However, at some point he stopped attending the school after growing disappointed with it, causing the club to become inactive.

He unexpectedly received Demonium as his DigiFriend, but completely rejecting the creature, Ryoga wanted to get rid of it, telling it to go away. Demonium would be returned to him by Itsuki Mitsutagawa, who reproaches him for abandoning his DigiFriend. The two then have a battle in which despite beating Itsuki and calling him a "spoiled brat from Shadoba College", in the end he concedes that he is an "interesting noise".

Under Mikado Shirogane's arrangements, he participates in the Shadowverse Club Tournament as Second Blood's representative, facing Itsuki in the fifth battle. Upon losing, Ryoga manages to confirm his interest in Itsuki and to respect him more.

When the Shadowverse World Ranking is released, Ryoga initially has no interest in participating. However, Wolfram Zerga tries to convince him that his potential must be unleashed in the competition. Ryoga disowns him, but after defeating him in battle, Wolfram remarks that Ryoga himself doesn't understand what motivates him.

After Ryoga pass out after the battle, Demonium calls Itsuki who takes Ryoga to Shadowverse College. The next day, Ryoga decides to join the Shadowverse World Ranking in order to battle Wolfram again and quickly scalates to the 5th place of the top 7, ending in 2nd place at the end of the competition.

Ryoga is finally brought along with the other World Ranking winners to the Shadow Area where the battle against the Seven Shadows will take place. Ryoga soon advances on his own to the area where Wolfram Zerga was waiting. During the battle, Ryoga is questioned about his reason for fighting, but he maintains a stance of self-denial about what he feels. However, after Wolfram nearly beats him and tries to disqualify him, Demonium manages to get Ryoga out, who realizes that his reason for fighting is that he enjoys fighting the strongest, regardless of whether he wins or not. After winning thanks to Demonium's evolution into Demonium, Crush Devil, Ryoga admits the value of his DigiFriend, apologizing for not seeing it sooner.

After supporting Light in the final battle against Hiro, Ryoga and the rest are taken to Genesis Corporation to stop the Shade invasion led by the Arc Ruler. However, refusing to follow orders, Ryoga left on his own before even receiving the Nexa System.

Mikado would later convince Ryoga to go with him to the Sky Tower instead of Ren and Tsubasa, although Ryoga only goes with the expectation of facing someone strong. The two face Himmel in the Sky Tower in a 2 vs 1 battle with modified rules and with the risk of losing their lives along with the battle. During the battle, Demonium evolves into Demonium, Ultimate Devil, giving them both the victory alongside Garuel, Seraphic Shine. Saving themselves from the destruction of the Sky Tower thanks to their ace cards, Ryoga and Mikado are confronted by the empowered Shades.

When everyone gathers together after Light loses to Wolfram Zerga, and he decides to go face Wolfram once more at the risk of never coming back, Ryoga gets angry that Light feels pressured by the "noise" of the rest of the world when he's obviously scared. However, Light makes the decision to go not just for the world, but for the excitement that it is the greatest battle of his life. Everyone then assures him that no matter what happens, they will be together again.

However, when Light uses Proof of Truth's effect to summon his friends' DigiFriends, this also summons his friends due to the bond each of them has with their DigiFriends. Ryoga supports Light when he plays Demonium, Ultimate Devil. Winning the battle, Ryoga and the rest use their ace cards to clear the way for Light and save Wolfram.

Just before the Tree of Woe disappears, Arc Ruler offers Seventh Flame to make everyone forget that they saved the world so they can go on with their normal lives. Ryoga accepts, rejecting attract people' attention.

Upon returning, Ryoga decides to go Shadowverse College to see everyone and get attracted by Light and Mikado' battle.

Personality[]

Ryoga is cruel and cold, unceremoniously abandoning his DigiFriend calling him nothing more than data. Much like Haruma Hazeura, he despises those who seek to have fun with Shadowverse and only cares about strength to overcome the opponent. He likes music, specially symphonic metal, and has a tendency to describe things using classical music terminology.

Deck[]

Ryoga uses a Bloodcraft deck focused in the Wrath state. At first he builds up little amounts of damage to his own leader multiple times with cards like Demon Maestro and Ambling Wraith in order to reach Wrath, unleashing his strongest effects afterwards. He also uses healing effects and Drain followers like Devilish Flautist to restore the lost defense.
