Personality[]
Setus is an honorable knight who represents the Bladerights's idealism of justice. His stature makes him look very intimidating, but he is very polite.
Because of Maisha's kindness, he's devotedly in love with her. Even after finding out her true intentions, he still loves Maisha, and only killed her by his own hand in order to take responsibility for his guild's actions and necessity to keep peace in Isunia. He even goes to the extent that Maisha doesn't die alone, remaining at her side during her final moments.
Story[]
History[]
Setus found Maisha Laforge alone, lost and without purpose or memories. He invited her to join the Bladerights and she became more outward when she joined. When the Bladerights Marshal couldn't continue his duties, it was Setus who recommended Maisha for the position of Undermarshal, believing it wass the right decision. Despite problems piling up, Maisha rallied the Bladerights together, to Setus's pride.
The Guild War[]
After taking care of destroying some of the Magis Covenant's water creatures, Setus and Maisha decide to return to their headquarters and invite Arisa to join them. The trio reach the headquarters where Arisa meets more members of the guild. Maisha stays behind to attend to guild matter and Arisa accompanies Setus the Magis Covenant guild.
Setus brings Arisa to Magis Covenant where he demands to speak with its marshal Eleanor Gloria. He complains to her about letting the water creatures, experiments of Magic Covenant, run wild in the city and orders her to turn herself in to Eschamali. Eleanor isn't interested in Setus demands and attacks, forcing Arisa and Setus to fight her. The two are unable to beat Eleanor, who expels them from the guild with her magic.
The two then decide to move on to Eschamali, but Arisa sees Erika traveling with a cloaked man and goes after her alone while Setus goes to meet with Maisha at Eschamali.
Arisa and the members she is traveling with find Maisha helping out the town and meet up with Setus, who takes her and Maisha back to the headquarters to hear Arisa out. Arisa explains her encounter with Erika and Maisha explains that the man Erika was with was Leod Black, the marshal of Countersolari and an assassin who plans to create chaos in Isunia, but the guilds can't act against each other.
Everyone arrives at the crime scene, but Maisha arrives late, having fought a strange person. Arisa is shocked at the kill and Setus explains that there were once two parts of the Bladerights, the Sun Corps which helped the people and the Moon Corps, which vanquished evil, but something involving a keeper split them apart. The moon corp broke off and formed a rebellious faction called Countersolari, who has held their resentment for generations. Arisa asks why no one stops Countersolari's crimes, but Setus explains that a fight between guilds would disrupt the delicate balance between them and would eventually cause Isunia to be destroyed. Maisha realizes that the murder was too obvious for Countersolari's work and they realize something is stirring. An assassin attacks Setus, but Arisa saves him and helps him fight.
Even though the assassins are defeated, they kill themselves to avoid being captured, horrifying Arisa. Setus leaves to inform Eschamali about the incident. However, the rules of Eschamali prevent action and most members of the Bladerights believe in the same balance as Setus.
The Guild War: Conclusion[]
As the war escalates, the citizen of Izunia are put in the crossfire. Setus and Maisha are busy helping citizens. He tells Maisha he notices something is wrong with some of the Bladerights. Setus later runs into Arisa and Eris after separating with Maisha. Both of them ask Setus for answer and Setus tells them is was just as confused as they are and they should head to the Bladeright HQ and get the answer from the Marshal. Just as they are about to head to Bladeright HQ, they hear an explosion that came from Eschamali. Just as Eris leaves, a Countersolari member ambushes Arisa and Setus. As they are about to fight Yuwan appears and tells Arisa they need to fight together. The defeated Countersolari member commits suicide, but not before telling Setus how the Bladerights wronged them. Yuwan decides to join them to meet with the Marshal for answers.
At the Bladeright HQ Arisa, Yuwan, and Setus meets the Marshal and discover that the Marshal was a fake being controlled by a vessel. Arisa, Yuwan, and Setus realize who the true mastermind is. This upsets Setus and leaves to find the real mastermind, Maisha.
Setus shows up at the hill and interferes in Erika and Maisha's battle. He demands Maisha to stop only to be defeated by her. Before Maisha and Erika can continue their fight, Arisa, Yuwan, Rowen, and Eris shows up. Asisa demands to know if Maisha is the mastermind which she confirms that she is. As they all attempt to stop Maisha she easily push them aside and left. Setus, who survived Maisha's attack, follows the group to end the war.
Maisha tells them she wants to summon the keeper Nerva, so she created the war to draw her attention and make herself a hero. Setus shows up to stop her only to be surrounded by Maisha's possessed Bladeright officers. With no end to Maisha's Bladeright troops Nicola and Eleanor stay behind and hold them off while Setus, Arisa and everyone else chase after Maisha.
As everyone catches up to Maisha they all attack her. Maisha repels them all with Leod's Sword the Truth Moon. As they fight Arisa tells Maisha she has decide to take her down. The fight continue Nicola and Eleanor shows up to help. As Nicola gives the finishing blow, Setus stops him. This startle everyone even Maisha as he tells them all that he loves Maisha. Setus then tells everyone that he has a responsibility as a Bladeright kills Maisha and declare himself as the new Marshal of the Bladerights.
As Arisa tries to comfort Setus. Erika apologizes to Setus for being the reason the war started, but Setus tells her it was inevitable and that their presence was what allowed the war to end. As everyone left, Setus stays behind thinking about how he could have prevented everything he had known the truth about Maisha. The dying Maisha is comforted by Setus as she passes away.
The Guild War: Reconstruction[]
Setus reflects on how the fragile peace of Isunia in the past allowed Maisha to unleash the guild war and wreak havoc. In the aftermath, both the guild and people began working together to restore Isunia, but Setus still feels guilt over having to kill Maisha.
Setus leads to Bladerights to wipe out magical lifeforms that appeared and disrupted the reconstruction on the day of a meeting between the guild leaders. A bladeright officer suggest using Isunia's legendary blades to wipe out the magic lifeforms, but Setus explains they are too powerful and it is best they stay locked away as symbols in the Bladeright's headquarters. Setus believes that the Magis Covenant guild is connected to the lifeforms, but acknowledges that the guild has changed and wouldn't pull such a stunt in the name of research. An agent from the Countersolar Guild, which has returned to being the moon corps of the Bladeright's guild, meets with Setus and reveals someone has infiltrated the Bladeright's headquarters. When Setus reaches the headquarters, he discovers is has been robbed and both the sword of truth and the sword of lies have been stolen. Setus realizes the outbreak of creatures was a distraction for the theft and plans to bring it up at the guild meeting.
Setus meets with Nicola, who is exhausted from clearing out the magical lifeforms, just before the guild meeting and they travel to the meeting together. They meet with Eleanor at the Magis Covenant building, but before they can start the meeting, a Bladeright officer breaks into the building and confronts the three guild leaders. He reveals he plans to kill the three to collect a bounty on them and start a new life in another country. He also reveals he set things up so Nichola would be exhausted and without ore to reenergize himself and that he used Eleanor's efforts to remove magic residue pollution the canals to unleash the outbreak of magical lifeforms, including one capable of competing with even Eleanor. Finally, he reveals he stole the two swords from the Bladeright's to use against the Guild Leaders. However, Nichola, having regained his strength by eating an ore sample in Eleanor's lab, destroys the rouge officer's magical lifeform and Setus reveals that Countersolari warned him of the assassination attempt, so they set a trap and chased away the rouge officer's foreign conspirators. The rouge officer tries to use the two swords, but their magic doesn't activate and Setus reveals that only those willing to sacrifice everything can wield them, rendering them useless. The rouge officer surrenders and Setus knocks him out instead of killing him, believing he is partially responsible for the officer's discontent and that he can be reformed. The guild leaders then officially begin the meeting.
Setus narrates that the previous false peace that reigned in Isunia was destroyed, and much was lost during the guild war, but everyone continues to try and move forward to create real peace.
Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]
As one of Eleanor's experiments meant to protect Isunia from interdimensional threats, fails to work properly and causes damage to the town square, to the irritation of Setus and Nicola. The three guild marshals further the discussion in private where Eleanor assures the others that despite her experiment's failure, her work toward it has yielding benefits, such as creating a way to teleport anywhere in Isunia and the creation of valuable crystals that can be sold for high prices or eaten by Nicola for power
The guild marshals then discuss an upcoming festival to celebrate Isunia's recovery after the war Maisha started. However, the meeting is interrupted by news of a sigil appearing in the sky and mechanical invaders.
Eleanor uses her magic to observe events and discovers the Aegis has been taken, Setus rallies Nicola and Eleanor and comes up with a plan for the Bladerights to evacuate the citizens while Nicola and Eleanor fend off the machines. Realizing the danger Isunia is in, Setus decides to use the Blades of Truth and Lies, but it will take time to unleash their power.
Setus saves some Bladerights from one of the machines, learning from them the evacuation is going well, but there more to be evacuated. Members of Countersolari offer to assist the evacuation so Setus can go retrieve the blades. When Setus reaches the Bladerights guild, he wonders what Maisha would think of him taking the swords she used to harm Isunia to save it, lamenting his choice to kill her and the guilt he carries for not being able to change the outcome. Setus arms himself with the blades of Truth and Lies and resolves to save everyone in Isunia and to not make any new regrets.
After destroying all the machines near him, Nicola regroups with Eleanor and Setus, the latter from confirms the citizens are all evacuated and safe. Suddenly, the Furies arrive and realizing they are far stronger then the other machines, Eleanor asks Nicola to buy her time to give Setus an opening. Nicola is barely able to fend off the Furies, but he lasts long enough for Eleanor to use her magic to pin them and Setus to defeat them off with the blades. After taking down the Furies, Setus is drained of much strength as a side effect of not yet mastering the blades. In a last-ditch attempt to defeat the Guild Marshals, the Furies attempt to self-destruct, but Eleanor is not concerned, realizing their friends have come to help them.
After Nicola defeats Belphomet, he reveals that the other vessels, including Maisha, were revived as well. Setus asks Eleanor to use the Tidegate to send him to Maisha, but Eleanor warns that she can't guarantee he will arrive at her exact location. Despite the risks, Setus still wishes to go find Maisha to stop her from unleashing another tragedy and try and to save her from the path she is on. Eleanor agrees but warns he will only be able to search for a limit time before being pulled back to Isunia and Setus leaves behind the blades of Truth and Lies, knowing his confrontation with Maisha is a personal matter.
After being sent across the worlds, Setus recalls being lost in the void, gripped by fear and pressure. However, bats produced by Aluzard's mana led him to Maisha.
Maisha repeatedly attacks Setus, believing that he has come to deliver justice to her once again, but she claims that this time he cannot kill her. Setus claims to be a coward and a bad leader, but she claims that he does not need swords because he is not there to be a hero of justice, but to end the tragedy. As Maisha continues to attack him without any resistance, Setus confesses that he could not hate her despite all the atrocities she committed and admits that when he killed her, it was because of his cowardice of wanting to take the easy way out as a marshal instead of seeking his redemption or understanding the real Maisha. Although Maisha accuses him of losing his mind by saying that when she is about to destroy a world and claims to have no heart, Setus denies this as he saw true joy and justice during his time with her, since even if someone commits unspeakable crimes, this does not erase their good parts or their redeemability. Maisha insists that she will not abandon Nerva and attempts to harness the power of Sorrow and use the pain of killing Setus to gain more power, but this fails on Setus as to him, Maisha is happiness. Setus tells her that he does not deny that she loves Nerva, but that his own love for her does not allow him to let her be manipulated by her, and asks her to accept her feelings. Maisha eventually falls into his arms saying that she does not deserve to be saved or a happy ending after all she has done, but Setus says that he will be by her side forever carrying her sins with her until they both find their place in the sun. When Setus is sent back to Isunia, he tells Maisha to go with him to face the consequences of what she did and to reclaim the life she rejected. Free from Nerva's Sorrow, Maisha cries for joy for the first time.
