The Shadow Knights are a group of of Shadowverse players personally trained by Leon Aurenche as the last test that the seven chosen ones must pass before obtaining the Mythical Cards.

They initially appear as Genesis Corporation's employees in the Shadow Grand Prix as organizers, later being sent by Leon to eliminate as many contestants as possible, thus leaving only the best who would be chosen for the mission of stopping the Tree of Woe, or failing that, be they who did. Each member is ultimately defeated by one of the protagonists, who are promoted to the Gold Rank. After revealing the truth of the Tree of Woe, Leon has the seven face off once more with the Shadow Knights and himself to prove that they are worthy of saving the world.
Each Shadow Knight uses a deck of a different class, having in common the Shadow Aura card given by Leon. In the final test, everyone uses a Portalcraft deck courtesy of Leon.
After the Tree of Woe incident, the Shadow Knights disbanded and everyone went their own way except for Ein, who remained in Genesis Corporation as Marguerite Valois's assistant.
