Shiro Kiriyama is a supporting character in Shadowverse: Champion's Battle, the 2020 Shadowverse anime and Shadowverse Flame.
Biography (Anime)[]
Shiro is a pro player who dedicated his life to Shadowverse. He participates in the National Tournament, but loses against Luca in the semifinals. He then participates in the Shadow Grand Prix, reaching gold rank, but is eliminated by a Shadow Knight.
Following the appearance of the Tree of Woe, Shiro is possessed by an Empty Shadow and confronts Hiro in the ruin of the Mythical Card. During the battle, Shiro expresses his frustration at having lost in the tournaments by stating that Shadowverse betrayed him even though he always gave his all for it. Hiro then makes him see that he actually betrayed himself and manages to win by awakening his Mythical Card.
Three years later, during Shadowverse Flame, Shiro participates in the Shadowverse World Ranking where he lose to Seiya Kibakura. Despite this, Shiro manages to position himself in second place in the top 7. During the last day, Shiro is challenged by Gentleman with whom he discusses the importance of being honest with oneself, something that he could not in the past and that Gentleman does not currently.
He then fights against the Shade monsters that invade Nekome, receiving the help of Miyabi Zaisenji. Upon recieving the Nexa System, he materialize his ace card to fight.
Following the defeat of Wolfram Zerga and the disappearance of the Tree of Woe, Shiro finally gets his first big win by beating Seiya in the finals of the National Tournament.
Personality (Anime)[]
As a pro, Shiro takes Shadowverse very seriously. Despite the fact that he normally accepts his defeats with respect, the Empty Shadows reveal that deep down he is not capable of accepting them, to the point where he gives himself up to help with the destruction of the world in order to be the best player.
By the time of Shadowverse Flame, Shiro retains a sense of guilt over vague memories of his shadow-possessed time, but was able to understand the importance of not lying about oneself and accepting one's weaknesses.

Shiro uses a Forestcraft deck. While he was posessed by an Empty Shadow, he uses a Forestcraft/Havencraft deck.

Etymology[]
- The name "Shiro," when written with the kanji ćČé, means "history" (ćČ shi) and "son" (é ro).
- Shiro's surname "Kiriyama" means "fog, mist, haze" (é§ kiri) and "mountain, hill" (ć±± yama).
