Takuma Kibakura is an antagonist in Shadowverse: Champion's Battle and the 2020 Shadowverse anime, and a supporting character in Shadowverse Flame.

Biography[]

Being the younger brother of a famous pro Shadowverse player like Seiya Kibakura, Takuma always wanted to be stronger than him, stubbornly rejecting whenever his brother give some advice.

He is a bully in Tensei Academy, often taking away other students' smartphones after defeating them, stating that a weak person was not qualified to play Shadowverse. He takes Mimori Amamiya's smartphone after defeating her, facing Hiro Ryūgasaki in his first battle to get it back. Seiya notes that he changed after the battle with Hiro.

When the Tree of Woe appears, Takuma is possessed by an Empty Shadow and confronts Hiro in the devastated city. He is freed after losing and then Hiro asks him to go help Mimori in her battle in the ruins of the Mythical Card. Upon arrival, Marguerite Valois adds the Glorious Slash card to his deck, which he never wanted to use because his brother had advised him to do so.

Takuma joins Mimori's battle against a possessed Seiya, managing to win by combining the Mythical Card with his Glorious Slash. Takuma decides to stay with his brother while Mimori goes with the others to stop the Tree of Woe.

Takuma appears briefly during Shadowverse Flame, berating Seiya for his hopeless attitude prior to his defeat by Light Tenryu. When the Arc Ruler's invasion begins while he was out with Seiya, Takuma convinces him to go see how they can help. They initially helps kids in the park, and upon recieving the Nexa System, they materialize their ace cards to fight.

Takuma is known throughout Tensei Academy as the "Phone Snatcher," stealing the phones of those he defeats in Shadowverse. Upon hearing this, Hiro and the protagonist set out to stop him. After convincing Kagura to tell them who he is, the protagonist defeats Takuma in the Bronze Cup to force him to stop his delinquencies at the school and return all phones.

The protagonist then seeks him out so he can have a word with his brother Seiya, to which Takuma reluctantly agrees after losing again. On another occasion when the protagonist and Mauro save him from some ruffians in the black alleys, Takuma reveals that his only wish is to defeat his brother, whose shadow he always lived in, admitting that the protagonist might have a chance of achieving it.

Personality[]

Takuma is stubborn and moody, always looking to overpower his opponents. However, he is capable of doing the right thing when necessary.

He shows great animosity towards his brother Seiya for always have been feeling inferior to him, although deep down he really appreciates him.

Deck[]

In the first season of the anime, Takuma uses a Swordcraft deck. While possessed by an Empty Shadow he uses a deck mixing Swordcraft and Bloodcraft.
