1. Welcome to Paradise[]

The Empyrean Inn is a paradise hotel where its guests enjoy the finest luxuries. Not an hour passes without an event of any kind takes place and banquets and entertainments are available for every guest. Only happy memories are ever made in Ametsuchi, the Empyrean Inn.

2. Still Waters and Rushing Currents[]

A guest flees from a dragonling called Mizuchi, a concierge at the inn, who chases him stealing a memory shard he claims belongs to him. Mizuchi asks if he is the one destroying her memory shards, but the quest confirms the shards is his. She kills the guest with her water magic for disturbing the inn's rules and destroys the memory shard. Afterward, she grabs a meal and enjoys the inn's luxuries. Later, she hears he drums for a hunt but sense another one of her memory shards being destroyed and soon after, Kunitsu Amachi gives her an order from Saito to deal with another forsaken. She finds the forsaken with a memory shard of his and kills him after learning the shard he has isn't hers. After destroying the shard, she wonders who is destroying her memories.

3. Going with the Flow[]

Mizuchi recalls that everything is a part of a greater flow and that she must never go against it in order to survive. When she arrived at the inn with no memories, Kunitsu Amachi introduced her to the inn and its luxuries and reveals that those who check in to the inn check in their memories to avoid having bad ones ruin their vacation. Mizuchi began her new life in the inn and one day, during a hunt for invading Sootspawn, she saved a guest from the creature and was approached by Saito, the head concierge of the inn.

4. The Concierge[]

Saito destroys the memory shard left behind by the sootspawn and explains to Mizuchi that the sootspawn are monsters drawn to memory shards. During a banquet, Saito tells Muzuchi that there is an infestation of Sootspawn in an old and forbidden section of the inn called "Weaver's Hall," and sometimes a Sootspawn will break out and attack the rest of the inn. The inn's staff struggled to deal with them until a man named Taketsumi arrived and turned the attacks into sporting events called hunts. Despite enjoying the inn's luxuries, Mizuchi senses one of her memories being destroyed and asks Saito about the sensation. Saito explains that guests' bad memories are turned into crystal shards when they check into the inn and that it the concierge's job to destroy any shards that are found after hunts as well as enforce the rules, mainly preventing anyone from accessing their memories. Trying to access memories is the most serious crime at the inn, for it displeases the Great Spider, the ruler of Ametsuchi, and those who do so are known as the forsaken. Saito realizes someone other than the staff was responsible for the recent destruction of Mizuchi's memory and offers her to join the concierge. Believing it is what her fate's path is guiding her to, Mizuchi accepts the offer and joins the concierge to find who is destroying her memories. From that day on, she spent her time enjoying the inn's luxuries and hunting down the forsaken, obdurately following the flow.

5. Deja Vu[]

While spending another day enjoying the inn's luxuries Mizuzhi sense another of her memories destroyed but is distracted by a nearby ruckus caused by fleeing guests. One of the guests explains that a certain guest who is powerful, entitled, and aggressive is causing trouble because of an accident with a new guest who accidentally knocked over her food. She finds the troublemaking guest, Si Long, knocking out the guest who dropped her food, but when Mizuchi confronts her, they both discover the other is a dragonling.

6. Eternal Bliss[]

Si Long contently spends her days in the inn, blissfully indulging in its luxuries. However, the other guests fear her for her violent temper, self-entitled behavior, and frightening water magic. She claims the entire inn as her territory and has been a guest at the inn for longer than most of the staff. While enjoying a meal, she recalls that in her early days at arriving at the inn, she went around and gathered her own memory shards, before moving on and enjoying the inn's luxuries once more

7. The Dragon's Territory[]

After awakening from a bad dream Si Long realizes the memory was abnormally vivid. While walking about the inn, Si Long overhears a cloaked guest asking about how the Great Spider takes memories. Another guest tells the cloaked guest that the Great Spider somehow takes memories when guests check in, but it is rumored to lock them away in a secret trove and it is forbidden to take them back. When Si Long hears another hunt is being held, she joins in to vent her anger from the nightmare. While fighting a sootspawn, Si Long realizes that the dream was actually one her memories and seeks to destroy them. She attacks the sootspawn to destroy the memories that plague her for good.

After destroying the sootspawn, Si Long discovers one of her memory shards, which she thought she had all destroyed a long time ago and destroys it. She moves to eat breakfast in hopes of forgetting her bad morning and is approached by Saito afterward. He tells her the concierge has a new member, but Si Long doesn't care and orders Saito away.

8. Familiarity[]

After another dream about her memories, one of several that have been unwillingly returning, Si Long grows angry travels to Weaver's Hall. She destroys a ward put up by Saito and proceeds to destroy countless sootspaw to find the one responsible for her returning memories and nightmares but fails to find what she is looking for. Afterward, she goes back to the banquets for more food, but a rowdy guest disrupts her meal and strikes her, dropping her food. Infuriated by the disrespect and losing her food, Si Long goes into a rage and knocks the quest out. Mizuchi arrives to investigate the disturbance and both she and Si Long discover the other is a dragonling.

9. Two Dragons[]

Mizuchi and Si Long enjoy each other's company as fellow dragonling and even the self-entitled Si Long admits she thinks of Mizuchi as a sister. Sometime later, Saito asks Mizuchi to investigate a forsaken named Anisage who went inside Weaver's hall. Saito warns that Anisage possesses some kind of cloaking ability and that not even he could find her. Mizuchi goes to Weaver's Hall and discovers the ward sealing it was broken. she uses her water magic to detect Anisage through her cloaking with sonar and prepares to attack her for breaking the inn's rules.

10. The Invisible Girl[]

Mizuchi warns Anisage that her sonar makes the latter's cloaking useless and Anisage reveals herself. She asks Anisage if she was destroying her memories, but Anisage denies it and Mizuchi realizes that Anisage is just a frightened child. She warns Anisage that entering Weaver's Hall is a crime second only to reclaiming memories, but Anisage questions why the latter is considered a crime protesting that she and the other forsaken just want to go home. Mizuchi emphasizes that they cannot go against the flow of the world and threatens to kill Anisage if she does so.

Mizuchi overpowers Anisage, tells Anisage that there are far more in the inn who want to stay and that in the face of so many, Anisage's desires mean nothing. Anisage quits fighting but declares that her and the other forsaken's opinions do matter before disappearing with her cloaking. Mizuchi finds Anisage with her sonar, but her attacks just pass through her and Anisage escapes after explaining that all the forsaken wish is to go home. Though reluctant, Mizuchi leaves to report to Saito, who explains that someone other than Anisage was responsible for breaking the ward. After finishing her report, Mizuchi overhears a werewolf boy coming from Weaver's Hall mention the forsaken and begins interrogating him. The werewolf introduces himself as Itsurugi and explains he recently spoke with a forsaken and asks her to help him throw a party so the guests and forsaken can become friends. Believing that Itsurugi was responsible for breaking the ward and the inn's rules, Mizuchi attacks him. Itsurugi uses his speed to dodge her attacks and asks why no one in the inn will help someone in need. Mizuchi declares that the forsaken are responsible for their ostracism and traps Itsurugi with her water magic Before she can kill Itsurugi, Si Long arrives and breaks him free, angered that her recent meal was interrupted by the two. Si Long threatens Itsurugi off and Mizuchi fears that she is a forsaken.

11. Hear the Spider's Roar[]

Si Long explains that while she is not a forsaken but was responsible for destroying the ward in her hunt for her memory shards. She then reveals that she had reclaimed her memories long before Mizuchi came to Ametsuchi, but the concierge didn't come after her because she destroyed them all herself along with along with all the concierge members who interfered, leaving only Saito and Taketsumi remaining. She declares no one orders her around and that so long the concierge stays out of her affairs, she stays out of theirs. She explains wants her memories gone and that she entered Weaver's Hall to deal with one of them. However, when Si Long encourages Mizuchi to forget the incident and share a meal with her, Mizuchi asks her if she was destroying other memories and Si Long explains no one can sense the memory shards of others. Before the two can begin their meal, a horde of sootspawn invade along with the great spider itself. Mizuchi tries to calm the great spider, but it ignores her and attacks, forcing Si Long to attack it. Si Long destroys one of the Great Spider's legs, causing countless memory shards to be released from the wound. The great Spider retreats and both Si Long and Mizuchi sense a memory nearby, Mizuchi realizes the memory is her, but Si Long furiously orders her to give it to her so she may destroy it.

Mizuchi repels Si Long's attacks and claims the memory belongs is hers. Si Long senses the memory belongs to her, but Mizuchi explains she senses the same thing and Si Long injures her for her interference. Desperate, Mizuchi grabs the shard, releasing the memories trapped within to both Si Long and Mizuchi.

12. Memoirs of a Dragon[]

Mizuchi remembers being born in a world that was stripped of most of its water by a dragon. The humans of that world were helpless against the dragon and were forced to beg for rain with sacrifices. Those born with draconoic features where considered evil omens and disposed of something Mizuchi was unaware of until her mother was killed for harboring her. Her mother was deeply missed by the village and the villagers claimed that fondness was what kept them from killing Mizuchi, but in actuality it was because Mizuchi was born with water magic, the same kind as the dragon that stole the water. Mizuchi's power gave her a place in the village, but they abused her, and she was forced to follow their whims to avoid being sacrificed. The duties she was forced to fulfil grew in number as she grew older, and she was forced to hold of thieves who wanted the village's harvests. Despite her own personal feelings about being forced to fight, Mizuchi was forced to go with the flow to survive. One day, Mizuchi was asked to kill the dragon stealing the water and, despite the odds, she managed to slay it. However, it turned out that the dragon didn't steal water, but created the entire world's supply, and the drought only got worse. Mizuchi was blamed for the disaster, despite the villagers forcing her to fight in the first place and was forced to go on the run from humanity. During her exile, she fell off a cliff and received mortal wounds. She then found herself summoned to Ametsuchi.

However, Mizuchi survived her fall and vowed never to be commanded again. She obtained true dragonhood and unleashed her wrath, stopping long after she had forgotten why she was so furious to begin with. In the aftermath of her rampage, she discovered she had flooded nearly world in water, leaving little land left and pushing humanity to its exctintion. She gained a new name from them, Si Long, the one who sank four continents, and settled on a nearby island and forced its inhabitants to tend to her every whim. Her reign was tyrannical and one day, she found a book chronicling the history of her island and discovered it was her original village. She was sent back into her rage and destroyed everything, causing the waters to rise until there was nothing but sea. Si Long then fell into the ocean and passed away, awakening in Ametsuchi.

13. The Broken Mirror[]

Mizuchi realizes that Si Long is her future self and Si Long realizes that Mizuchi is her past self. Si Long realizes that Mizuchi is the reason her memories kept returning: because they shared them. Mizuchi is horrified that she will spend her life being pushed around, only to turn into a tyrant and destroy the world. Si Long, furious that the memories she worked so hard to leave behind came back, attacks Mizuchi and declares she will destroy the great spider to permanently destroy her memories for good. Mizuchi protests, but Si Long silences her and leaves to fulfil her mission. Mizuchi finds Anisage in Weaver's Hall, apologizes for her earlier actions and begs for her help. Seeing what she will become if she continues to blindly follow fate, Mizuchi declares she go against the flow and will fight against Si Long and stop her from destroying all the memories. Aniage offers to help to protect the memories and the two join forces to stop Si Long.
