Tsubasa Takanashi is a Havencraft leader in Shadowverse and a main character in the anime Shadowverse Flame. Her Digital Friend is Wingy.
Biography[]
She is a 3rd-year student of Shadoba College, being a senior to Light Tenryu and his friends. She’s the director of Third Feather since the former one, Seira, resing the position after being defeated by Haruma Hazeura. Since then, the club was barely active in order to keep Haruma away.
Hearing from her clubmates and the other club presidents how Seventh Flame was looking for new members despite having almost been disbanded, Tsubasa decides to confront them. In a battle with Light Tenryu she seeks to show that there is no point in being serious when you are weak and that it will only lead to them being hurt. However, Light keeps going without give up and remembers Tsubasa her own Shadowverse. After losing, Seira convinces Tsubasa to join Seventh Flame.
Upon the threat of being expelled if losing Mikado Shirogane's Shadowverse Club Tournament, Tsubasa decides to go on her own to prepare. However, Ren Kazamatsuri follows her and Tsubasa finds her attitude childish and annoying. Then the two have a battle and Tsubasa finds out the pure passion of Ren and bonds with her.
The next day the two decide to learn more about Gentleman, discovering their true identity in the arcade center. Tsubasa then challenges them to a battle, forming a genuine bond with the reclusive Shion. After their battle, Subaru Makabe notes how much the two are in sync now. He goes from confused to terrified when the two team up to make him a better Shadowcraft player, noting that they aren't their usual selves.
Tsubasa is the second representative of Seventh Flame in the Shadowverse Club Tournament, facing Seira Ikumi. Though hesitant to be strong enough to defeat her sempai, Shion and the rest of her teammates encourage her to not give up. In the end, Tsubasa thanks Seira for that dream battle promising to shine even more brighter than her and Seira entrusts her with her best card, Tanzanite Convictor, which Tsubasa had previously refused to accept until she felt worthy of it.
When everyone goes to the resort on Genesis Island as a prize, Tsubasa encourages Shion to show herself in person. Tsubasa accompanies Light along with the rest of Seventh Flame in his battle with Mikado Shirogane and takes care of him when he passes unconscious for a few days.
Tsubasa then joins the Shadowverse World Ranking alongside the rest of Seventh Flame. However, she is discouraged after her performance in the first three days, especially after losing to Miyabi Zaizenji. This leads her to challenge Andrea Rondo, looking for a battle with her to help her improve like she did with Light. Despite losing to her as well, Tsubasa regains his determination and manages to beat Miyabi in a rematch on the final day of the World Ranking, getting third place in the top 7.
Tsubasa is taken along with the rest of Seventh Flame, Ryoga Jasei, and Mikado Shirogane to the Shadow Area where the battle against the Seven Shadows would take place. Tsubasa is the second to battle, facing Andrea Rondo again, who is revealed to be a Seven Shadow. After seeing the tragedy and darkness that surround Andrea, Tsubasa decides, despite losing, that she will make Andrea recover her smile.
After meeting with Ren, the two go to Shion who was at a crossroads during their battle against Warden Craft. Tsubasa tries to make Shion not doubt their friendship by reflecting on her own fears of separation, but then decides that it is best for Shion to decide alone if they really wants to be with them. However, upon seeing Ren jump to protect Shion, Tsuabsa understands that she must be there for Shion, reaffirming the bond between the three.
After supporting Light in the final battle against Hiro Ryugasaki, Tsubasa and the rest are taken to Genesis Corporation to stop the Shade invasion led by the Arc Ruler. To do this, they are given the Nexa System and tasked with stopping the three towers created by the Arc Ruler. When Shion divides everyone into teams, Tsubasa is assigned to the Sky Tower along Ren.
However, on the way to the tower fighting the Shades, Tsubasa and Ren are intercepted by Andrea and Hina, who attack them and then challenge them to a tag battle with a modified system that generates a biological feedback that damages the real body. Both Ren and Tsubasa try to reason with Hina and Andrea who had decided to "give up on the world" and therefore let it be destroyed, but the two deny their reasons, stating that none of them know true despair like they do. Even so, Ren and Tsubasa win thanks to the evolution of their DigiFriends.
When the ground begins to give way due to the damage from the battle, both Hina and Andrea fall into the void. Although Tsubasa tries to save Andrea, she lets herself fell saying that it is too late for her to reach the light, leaving Tsubasa heartbroken.
After watching Wolfram Zerga's broadcast announcing that he will battle Light to decide the fate of the world, Tsubasa and the rest of Seventh Flame run to go with him, but Light decides to go alone when he sees the fear of everyone in the city. When everyone gathers together after Light loses, and he decides to go face Wolfram once more at the risk of never coming back, Tsubasa realizes that she didn't think about Light's feelings when everyone sees how scared he really was. However, Light makes the decision to go not just for the world, but for the excitement that it is the greatest battle of his life. Everyone then assures him that no matter what happens, they will be together again.
However, when Light uses Proof of Truth's effect to summon his friends' DigiFriends, this also summons his friends due to the bond each of them has with their DigiFriends. Tsubasa supports Light when he plays Wingy, Glorious Gemstone. Winning the battle, Tsubasa and the rest use their ace cards to clear the way for Light and save Wolfram.
Just before the Tree of Woe disappears, Arc Ruler offers Seventh Flame to make everyone forget that they saved the world so they can go on with their normal lives. Tsubasa agrees that it is the best for them.
Upon returning, Tsubasa and Seventh Flame organize a party at the club to celebrate. However, they end up going to watch the battle between Light and Mikado.
Personality[]
She’s somewhat of a downer and is always low tension. She has a tendency to get absorbed in her thoughts, ignoring everything else. She likes the vegetable juice, barely eating or drinking something else. Despite her wishes of become a pro, Tsubasa lost the impulse of being serious in Shadowverse after Haruma humiliated Seira, who she used to admire, which also lead her to believe that things like dreams and bonds are irrelevant since them eventually disappear. This leads her to develop a cold and disinterested attitude, which masks her true personality.
She starts off distant at first when she is first recruited to Seventh Flame. However, thanks to her teammates, she is able to accept herself within the group. Over time, Tsubasa gains more of an authoritarian personality, being the voice of reason in the group. By the time Tsubasa faces off against Shion, she is able to project her positive feelings towards others instead of the other way around. On the other hand, she still retains that authority as their senpai. When Light accidentally reveals himself, Itsuki, and Subaru went out to eat ramen, instead of training, Tsubasa is the first to react, angered.
Her time in Seventh Flame led her to regain her drive to improve herself and rise to the top of Shadowverse.
Deck[]
Tsubasa uses a Havencraft deck that focuses on having Storm and Ward at the same time on a follower. She specializes in amulets and Crystallize effects. Most of her followers gives abilities like Storm and Ward randomly, fully exploited by Bejeweled Shrine and her ace, Diamond Master.
