Valdain revealed himself and demanded to know the truth. Despite the attempts of his mother and the king to console him, Valdain was infuriated by the lie he had been living and attacked his mother in a blind rage, killing her. In a massive breakdown, Valdain learned about the cursed power of the Forest Terror he possessed and the king fled to escape it.
Valdain lost all purpose for his life and decided to create a new one. He chose to leave the kingdom and when Bayleon tried to stop him, he used his curse power claiming it was the result of a potion his mother made. Valdain went into hiding and when Bayleon became king, his failure to stop Valdain caused many to doubt him.
At some point Valdain saved Meowskers from being eaten by a beast and he has followed him ever since.
When Viridia Magna began spreading the blight, Valdain saw it provided him an opportunity.
