Vincent is the Titan of Order, one of the three Titans who rule Rivayle. He is a supporting character in Fate's Trigger, Fate's Trigger: Conclusion, The Final Loop and Whispers of Purgation: Last Words.

Vincent is a leader of the Runecraft class. His leader skin can be purchased through the in-game shop as part of the 7th Anniversary Leader Pack.

Personality[]

Vincent is arguably the most benevolent of the three Titans. He shows sympathy for Maiser after the latter accidentally kills a civilian, and is willing to "fire" him later on so he may battle Iceschillendrig with impunity. He also does not appear to wield power for the sake of power, as Nahtnaught and Icey do, but because he earnestly believes Rivayle needs a strong leader. In one time loop when he appears before a despairing Maiser and Selena, he stops Selena from killing Maiser and uses his power to order the deputy to "Rest thy weary soul", offering him a merciful death. He also carries a friendly and down-to-earth air, calling people affectionate names such as "slick" and "son" (including Aluzard, even though both are most likely centuries old).

However, he is not necessarily a good person. He is willing to do whatever it takes to preserve the status quo, even if that means allying with Iceschillendrig whom he finds morally repugnant. He is not above using his Words to force someone to commit suicide or brainwash them into fighting for him. His definition of "mercy" is also somewhat skewed, as when Maiser appears to fight him alongside Drache and Aluzard, he merely offers the deputy a chance to apologize and surrender, and fights him without hesitation when he refuses. He even claims that though he cares for Maiser, his death "would just be a matter of going to his funeral" and that their previous connection is meaningless now that Maiser has opposed him.

When the status quo is not threatened, however, Vincent can be ineffectual and cruelly calculating. He will often sit back and carefully analyze the situation, refusing to act unless absolutely necessary. To that end, he is portrayed as quite intelligent, with implications that he is somewhat aware of the time loops affecting Rivayle.

Story[]

History[]

Vincent used to be an ordinary boy who believed fervently in law and justice. Thus, he became a deputy and his dedication and commitment led him to become the right-hand man of the sheriff, a previous Titan of Order. However, when the sheriff decided to choose his successor, Vincent rejected him because inheriting his Titan power would mean that his predecessor would die. Thus, as time passed and the sheriff grew weaker and weaker, crime and death spread through Rivayle. Vincent was finally forced to agree to carry out the succession. On his deathbed, the sheriff told him with his last words to do the right thing.

When Maiser applied to become a deputy, Vincent was impressed by Maiser's magical abilities. After Maiser found himself unable to draw his gun due to guilt of killing a innocent civilian and tried to leave the police, Vincent convinced him to stay.

Fate's Trigger[]

Maiser returns to the sherrif's building where the sherrif, Vincent the Titan of Order, berates him for nearly letting the criminal getting away due to being distract by helping various people. Vincent sends Maiser to report the incident and another deputy offers to take him to lunch later.

At the sheriff's office, Vincent explains the criminals Maiser caught were linked to Iceshillendrig and owed him money, causing them to commit thefts to pay their debts in order to escape Iceshillendrig's wrath. Vincent reveals Iceshillendrig is gathering as much money as he can and spiking his interest rates, but he can't figure out a reason for it, as such actions could cause his supply of money to be cut off. He orders Maiser to investigate Iceshillendrig and find out his motive for his actions, warning him that he will have to likely draw his gun on this mission despite his fears about using it.

Before Iceshillendrig can use more of his power on Maiser, Vincent arrives and uses his own power to restraint Iceshillendrig. Iceshillendrig concedes the fight and disappears after learning that Vincent will oppose him if he is forced to. Maiser collapses from the curse Iceshillendrig inflicted on him and Vincent apologizes for putting him in such a situation but is more concerned about the upcoming war between the Titans.

Maiser awakens in the sheriff's office, but is still feeling the effects of Iceshillendrig's curse. He explains that Iceshillendrig's power is Reclaimation, the power to identify and transfers ownership. Since Iceshillendrig owns all material possession in Rivayle, he can decide whether something is taken from him and reclaim the cost however he chooses, and he nearly claimed ownership of Maiser's life. He reveals Rivayle has broken out into war with Nahtnaught's forces fighting Iceshillendrig's, with Bunny and Baron fighting alongside Nahtnaught to kill Iceshillendrig and take his position as a Titan. Vincent fears Nahtnaught's psychotic hunger for causing fear will make her lay waste to Rivayle, but the police won't involve themselves in the conflict and will only take action in the aftermath. However, Maisher wishes to stop the conflict and Vincent puts him on probation, freeing him from the police's obligation of neutrality and allowing him to act on his own terms.

Fate's Trigger: Conclusion[]

Nahtnaught puts Illganeau's rampage off of the time and is informed that Iceshillendrig has been marking people from the Golden Hills with a special seals. Nahtnaught is intercepted by Vincent, who reveals that the previously mentioned seal is Iceshillendrig's secret weapon. All those marked with the seal have been unknowingly turned into moving bombs that could be detonated at Iceshillendrig's command. Nahtnaught is undetered, even when Vincent reveals Iceshillendrig can't be killed without his killer sharing his fate, due to his Reclaimation magic which steals back anything taken from him through a curse. However, because of Baron's death, Nahtnaught desires revenge for the death of what she considers her property. Vincent tries to reason with Nahtnaught, revealing Maiser's death, but the two Titans end up facing off.

Vincent and Nahtnaught's fight is interrupted when the sense Iceshillendrig's seal has been activated.

The Final Loop[]

Vincent continues waiting for the conflict to blow over. When one of the deputies argues against just standing by, Vincent uses his Word Magic, which controls people and objects weaker than him through vocal commands, to quiet him. Vincent decides to let Maiser handle the immediate crisis while he waits for the real battle to begin.

Aluzard prepares to search for the others from Vellsar, but is stopped by Vincent, who uses his Word Magic to turn Iceshillendrig's henchmen on each other. Though Aluzard is able to resist Vincent's power over him and Vincent reveals he has decided the fighting has gone long enough and is finally intervening. Seeing Aluzard as a potential threat due to his power, Vincent attacks. Using his magic, Vincent freezes Aluzard and plans to hold him until the rebellions is over, but Aluzard breaks free and counterattacks. He manages to make Vincent bleed and drinks the spilt blood to empower himself and fights back to incapacitate Vincent. However, Vincent begins usign the people he put under his control to fight Aluzard, but Drache arrives to give him support. Vincent senses Drache has traded blows with Maiser and Drache reveals Maiser is fighting near where Nahtnaught is destroying everything, but Vincent makes it clear he doesn't care about Maiser's fate. Drache gives Aluzard the bullet, the information about Bunny, and warns him of Iceshillendrig's reclamation. Aluzard leaves to take action with the information he has been given while Drache stays behind to fight Vincent.

Drache continues fighting Vincent, despite being overpowered, and Vincent recognizes that they are both running out of magic. The battle is interrupted by Maiser, but Vincent, aware of his reasons for coming, tells him he will not back down. Vincent offers to let Maiser walk away if he gives up, but Maiser refuses and fights alongside Drache. The battle against Vincent is also interrupted by the Shades and Vincent leaves to address the problem while Maiser and Drache fight the Shades.

Illganeau is overwhelmed by the two, but she is saved by Vincent and Nahtnaught. The three join forces to defeat Iceshillendrig.

Vincent and Nahtnaught are overpowered by Iceshillendrig and Zecilwenshe, having grown stronger with Iceshillendrig's new power, overwelms Illganeau. Illganeau destroys Zecilwenshe and Vincent and Nahtnaught begin inflicting damage on Iceshillendrig. Nahtnaught summons Kagero, Sekka, Drache, Maiser, and Selena to the battle using her power and Vincent uses his power to heal and empower everyone for the battle.

After the battle, Vincent and Nahtnaught handle Rivayle's affairs with Illganeau, who is helping the Wretches regain their humanity with Vincent's help and keeping the two titans in check.

Whispers of Purgation: Last Words[]

When Nexus appeared in Rivayle after being revived by Nerva as a vessel of Fury, Illganeau confronts Nexus and is overwhelmed until Vincent and Nahtnaught join the battle. Nexus is angered by the three forces created by Fleauesse, and then Arisa joins in as well, having sensed Nerva's presence and deciding to return to Rivayle to help. While Illganeau stays behind fighting the Shades, Arisa and the other Titans fight Nexus, noticing that she is stronger than before, but Vincent's boosts, Nahtnaught's strength and the power Arisa receives from the branch of the Tree of Life give them the power to create a miracle. However, Nexus summons an unknown power just before being defeated. As the four celebrate their victory and make plans to go after Nerva, time stops as Nexus is no longer a Keeper who cannot act without a vessel, as Nerva's power has turned her into a totally different being, being able to use the power of the Fury and an incantation to do a "Reset" turning back time and "Restart" at the exact moment Arisa fired her magic arrow, this time using a Shade to shield herself. However, Nexus is defeated again this time thanks to Vincent gathering the mana of the inhabitants of Rivayle so that his commands had enough strength to immobilize Nexus and thus finish her off. However, Nexus turned back time reliving the battle hundreds of times, being defeated each time, until she managed to get her Shades to intercept Vincent before his summoning and make him disappear.

Maiser and Selena celebrate their wedding with several locals congratulating them. However, Vincent watches in disgust. The scene suddenly repeats itself, and Nahtnaught asks Vincent how many times it's been now, which Vincent doesn't remember but it doesn't matter since Nexus has control of everyone except the two of them trapped in this eternal cycle. The scene keeps repeating itself as Nahtnaught says that since they can't contain Titans in cages, Nexus has them trapped in time. The two however hope that their allies outside can do something using the "Song of Heaven and Earth", despite knowing that if their powers are transmitted trought said ritual, both of them will die.

Recalling their past still inside the fake wedding, the two Titans sense the ritual taking place. They both accept their deaths, with Nahtnaught accepting that for once she must give rather than take and Vincent thanking Maiser for giving him hope.

Iceschillendrig congratulates the warriors of Rivayle for their victory over Nexus, but reminds them that it cost them Vincent and Nahtnaught's lives, but that it will be okay now that he has his powers and has become an absolute god. However, the power suddenly begins to drain from him as Nahtnaught and Vincent enter, still alive. Illganeau explains that the last line of the ritual had another meaning, that salvation would not come at the cost of death and the world inherited by a god, but that Fleauesse's love for humans promised divine protection in perpetuity as Fleauesse's legacy was passed from one generation to the next. Thus, having a companion during the ritual acts as a charm that increases one's life force to the point of resisting the ritual and thus preventing the deaths of one's predecessors.

Vincent reconciles with Maiser, saying that he's proud of what he's accomplished and that he hopes the two can work together rebuilding Rivayle until the day he becomes his successor, though Maiser asks for some time off to finally celebrate his wedding with Selena.
