Who Will Claim Victory? is the twelfth episode of the Shadowverse (anime). It aired in Japan on June 23, 2020.

Plot[]

Hiro and Luca, two people passing each other, two people who do not overlap. Still, believing in the connection of Shadowverse, Hiro continues the battle with all his might. What Hiro sees before the final is the end of the battle, or--.

Turn 16 Hiro[]

Play Points 9, Overflow Active

Hiro plays the cost 7 card Glacial Dragoon (5/5) and it's Fanfare effect activates, dealing 1 damage to all other followers (Scarlet Vampire 3/5-3/4, Forest Bat 1/1-1/0). Hiro ends his turn.

Turn 17 Luca[]

Play Points 9, Vengeance active

Luca plays the cost 5 spell Savage Hunt, which destroys an enemy follower and allows Luca to draw a card if Vengeance is active, Luca destroys Glacial Dragon. Luca plays the cost 2 follower Nightmare (2/2) and the cost 2 follower Venomous Cobra (1/3). Since Vengeance is active, Nightmare Fanfare's effect activates, giving it +2/+0 (2/2-4/2), and Venomous Cobra's Fanfare effect gives it Bane. Luca attacks Hiro's Leader with Scarlet Vampire (13-10) and ends his turn

Hiro plays the cost 7 spell Conflagration, dealing 4 damage to all followers (Scarlet Vampire 3/4-3/0, Nightmare 4/2-4/0, Venomous Cobra 1/3-1/0). Hiro plays the cost 3 follower Twin-Headed Dragon (1/4) and its effect gives it +3/+0 since Overflow is active (1/4-4/4). Hiro ends his turn.

Turn 19 Luca[]

Play Points 10, Vengeance active

Luca plays the cost 7 follower Dark Emperor (5/7) and since Vengeance is active, Dark Emperor's Fanfare effect activate, destroying up to two enemy followers, Luca destroys Twin-Headed Dragon. Luca plays the cost 3 follower, Vieght, Vampire Noble (3/2) which has Ward, and ends his turn.

Turn 20 Hiro[]

Play Points 10, Overflow active

Hiro plays the cost 5 spell, Draconic Fervor, drawing 2 cards and restoring 3 defense to his leader (10-13). Hiro plays the cost 5 follower, Shield Dragon (3/6) which has Ward. Since Overflow is active, Shield Dragon's Fanfare effect activates, dealing 2 damage to an enemy follower, Hiro targets Vieght (3/2-3/0) and ends his turn.

Turn 21 Luca[]

Play Points 10, Vengeance active

Luca plays the cost 8 spell Revelation, which reduces its cost to 4 if Vengeance is active, dealing 8 damage to all enemy followers, but Dark Emperor's effect reduces all effect damage it takes to 0 (Shield Dragon 3/6-3/0, Dark Emperor 5/7-5/7). Luca plays the cost 3 follower Demonhand Assassin and since Vengeance is active, its Fanfare effect gives it Drain. Luca attacks Hiro's leader with Dark Emperor (13-8) and ends his turn.

Turn 22 Hiro[]

Play Points 10, Overflow active

Hiro plays the cost 1 follower, Bejweled Dragon (1/1). Since Overflow is active, Bejeweled Dragon's effect activates, adding a copy of the highest cost follower destroyed in the previous turn to Hiro's hand, Shield Dragon is added to Hiro's hand. Hiro plays the cost 5 follower Shield Dragon (3/6) and its Fanfare effect activates, Hiro targets Demonhand Assassin (3/2-3/0). Hiro plays the cost 3 follower Imprisoned Dragon (4/3) which can't attack and has Ward and ends his turn.

Turn 23 Luca[]

Play Points 10, Vengeance active

Luca plays the cost 3 spell Blood Rage, which deals 3 damage to an enemy follower or 6 damage if Vengeace is active, Luca targets Shield Dragon (3/6-3/0). Luca plays the cost 7 follower Ice Blade Warfiend (5/7) which has Rush. Luca attacks Imprisoned Dragon with Warfiend (Warfiend 5/7-5/3, Imprisoned Dragon 4/3-4/0) and Warfiend's effect allows Luca to draw a card since it attacked a follower without being destroyed. Luca attacks Hiro's leader with Dark Emperor (8-3) and reveals the card he drew is Razory Claw, which will allow him to deal 3 damage to Hiro's leader next turn and win the match, before ending his turn.

Turn 24 Hiro[]

Play Points 10, Overflow active

Hiro plays the cost 7 follower Ignis Dragon (3/5) and its Fanfare effect evolves it since Hiro has 2 or less cards in his hand (5/7). Hiro plays the cost 3 spell Piercing Roar, which grants an allied follower the ability to deal damage to the enemy leader equal to the attack of an enemy follower it destroys in battle, and targets Ignis Dragon for its effect. Hiro attacks Dark Emperor with Ignis Dragon and its Strike effect deals 3 damage to all enemy followers and gives it +5/+0 (Warfiend 5/3-5/0, Ignis Dragon 5/7-10-7-10/2, Dark Emperor 5/7-5/7-5/0). Dark Emperor's Last Words deal 5 damage to Luca's leader and the ability Piercing Roar granted to Ignis Dragon deals damage to Luca's leader equal to the destroyed Dark Emperor's attack (10-5-0).
